Where would Tennessee be today if Lane Kiffin were still the HC?

Top 10 recruiting class in 1 year

only lost to future 2008 NC Alabama on a fluke blocked FG, 12-10 in Bryant Denny

barely lost to AU and UCLA

beat the dog shite out of UGA

lost some bad ones too to SC, OM and VT

7-6 overall and was staring at about 9-3

I personally think they'd be contending for the east every year and have at least beat Bama a time or 2 since then

I think when Lane leaves Bama, he will be a great HC somewhere. Maybe too young for UT at the time, but still think he was on pace to turn things around.

Didn't he give up like 62 at USC against ASU???

Mediocre head coach. I think he'll be a good one after he leaves Saban though.

He walked into a sanction ridden program at USC.

I prefer to think of it as a gutsy win we earned through sheer will. Terrance Cody refused to let us lose. He ate.

I do not think he was ready to be an SEC HC back then.

Slive clearly loathed him and I do not think on the field success would have come quickly enough to save him.

For Tenn, though, he would have left their recruiting classes stocked for the next guy.

Oh, he didn't lose to SC. We wore the black jerseys that night and beat the ever loving shite out of them.

He will be pretty good at his next stop.

You have to think he learned what his mistakes were and is probably much improved after being under the Saban wing.

LK did an outstanding job at UT. To say otherwise is patently false, and solely a product of him leaving after 1 year.

His recruiting class did fall apart rather quickly, but we don't know that it would have happened that way had he stuck around.

In much better shape than with Lyle.

Kiffin is actually a good coach.

Totally different situations. Kiffin inherited talent. Butch inherited the second worst roster in the SEC.

I think outstanding is a stretch.

No one is going to confuse him with some defensive genius but I think Kiffin could be a top tier head coach one day with the right defensive cord.

Maybe. Ole Miss was the only real mark against him. He did a very good job, I don't care how you slice it.

Kiffin is a good OC and a mediocre HC. Butch is a better HC than Kiffin.
