Assuming no upsets this week, I think Clemson and UA stay at 1 and 2. I also think that the Big 10 champ could vault to 3 because they had to win a championship game. To me, that's the only way Bama doesn't draw OU.

This. And it seems pretty likely

I expect to play Oklahoma, unless UNC upsets Clemson in the ACC Title game. If that happens, then most likely we're #1 and we're playing UNC. Oklahoma would play the Big 10 champ in that scenario.

Didn't even think about that as a possibility...

see i expect the committee to put Clemson 1, alabama 2, and then the winner of the big ten game 3. the reason being they will have beaten a top 5 team. I think oklahoma will get the 4 spot and be downgraded because they didn't have to play an extra game.

anyone else think thats logical?

Doesn't matter we will either play them in the 1st or second round.

Kinda crappy for OU to get to go to Dallas regardless of who they play. That will be close to LSU at the Sugar Bowl.

Perhaps... the winner (especially if it's MSU) will have the most "big name" wins. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me with wins of OSU and Iowa if they were #2, and Alabama was #3. Oklahoma drops to #4, plays Clemson.

I'd see a low scoring MSU/Bama game alongside a high-octane Clemson/OU game.

Yeah, I think because most people are thinking Clemson is a done deal, but UNC is no slouch. Plus they only have the 1 loss, so them beating Clemson puts them in. It's not like Florida winning the SECCG.

I think it will end one of two ways

1. Clemson
2. Oklahoma
3. Alabama
4. Iowa/Michigan State

Oklahoma will finish a spot ahead of Alabama so that it is defensible for them to play in the Cotton Bowl since they are the higher seed (it would also be defensible to put them at #2, they would have earned it).

OR

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Iowa/Michigan State
4. Oklahoma

They don't want #3 Oklahoma playing 2 hours from campus against a #2 "home" seed 8 hours from campus. They make the argument the Iowa/MSU win in their title game gave them the bump, Alabama plays in Dallas and Clemson plays in Miami.

That is my guess, one of the two. I very much doubt there is a #2 Alabama vs #3 Oklahoma game in Dallas.

Alabama's lackluster win..

You do realize that Bama shut Auburn completely down in the second half and Auburn had its worst rushing day ever under Gus. Bama ran over their defense when the Aubies knew they had to have a stop just to have a chance? It was pretty much domination.

This game was no Clemson/USCe game.

I actually believe Alabama will play Michigan State because the Spartans will jump up to #3 after beating Iowa. They might even jump bama for the #2 spot simply because beating Top 5 Iowa on the last weekend of the season would be very impressive.

Oklahoma will in all likelihood be the #4 seed unless its Iowa that beats Michigan State. That or if Clemson or Alabama were to somehow lose. With no upsets, I see this:

#1 Clemson
#2 Alabama or Michigan State
#3 Alabama or Michigan State
#4 Oklahoma

Either way, its likely Alabama and Michigan State play in Dallas, and Clemson and Oklahoma would play in Miami.

Honesty I don't care who we play.

You've got to beat two teams to win the title. If you can't beat one in the first round, you can't beat them in the title game.

But for the sake of discussion as far as the final rankings go, there are a lot of things that can happen that could shuffle the final standings so that Alabama and Oklahoma don't meet in the first round.

Clemson will have their hands full with North Carolina. If they lose, then everything goes sideways.

A Bama loss isn't very likely, but they could easily have a lackluster performance against Florida and get dropped from #2.

Either Iowa or Michigan State could have and Ohio State 2014-like performance and vault up.

Oklahoma's in an interesting spot. They're easily in the final 4, but they don't play. Just like Baylor and TCU last season, they're sitting home while the other four contenders have a chance to make a final statement.

The two easiest paths to Bama/OU missing in round 1 is a Clemson loss and comfortable Bama win. Bama, OU, and the B1G champ all slide up and gosh knows who (UNC? tOSU) slides into the 4th slot.

The second is that Bama and Clemson hold serve, either Iowa or Michigan State shows out in the B1G championship, and the lack of a B12 title game sees Oklahoma get dropped to 4th.
