Where Are Alabama Fans Getting the Idea...

that they will most likely play Michigan State or Iowa (assuming all of the frontrunners win out) in the first round of the playoffs? I have seen this posted in multiple threads. It seems a given that an undefeated Clemson would remain at #1, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to propel Michigan State/Iowa over Oklahoma or Alabama unless one of of the two Big Ten teams blows the other one out.
I could see the committee placing Oklahoma at #2 this week after their performance, coupled with Alabama's lackluster win, but a switch between those two would have no impact on the overall pairings of #1 vs. #4 and #2 vs. #3.

Who thinks that? I expect to play Oklahoma unless something crazy happens.

The committee hates the Big 12.

Assuming no upsets this week, I think Clemson and UA stay at 1 and 2. I also think that the Big 10 champ could vault to 3 because they had to win a championship game. To me, that's the only way Bama doesn't draw OU.

If Bama and Clemson look sluggish next week, Sooners could jump to number 1. Then Bama would open with Clemson. Committee could move the top 4 around to get the match ups they want, so anything is possible in terms of seeding. They won't think twice about dropping Clemson.

Will be a great match up, assuming Clemson doesn't lose to UNC.

I think the playoff committee rankings will look like this come Tuesday:
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Iowa
5. Michigan State
6. Ohio State
Oklahoma is IDLE while #4 and #5 will be playing against each other in the Big Ten Championship Game. Iowa is undefeated, Michigan State has a loss. If MSU wins they will have beaten a Top 4 team on Championship Saturday. That counts for something. It is very possible that Michigan State vaults Oklahoma if that were to happen.

Honesty I don't care who we play.

Only possibility I see is an undefeated Iowa jumping all the way to #2. Aside from that we are going to play OU.

Haven't seen that being pushed by any Bama fan I know. The more interesting scenario that becomes an issue is Ohio State getting in at #4 if Clemson loses. I could see Oklahoma jumping Alabama this week with OU playing Ohio State in the opening playoff game if Clemson loses. It means Alabama would be guaranteed a revenge game if they can handle the Iowa/Michigan State game in the opener.

I don't care really. We will have a month to prepare.
