Watching the TAMU game and the "pimp stick" I was reminded of the "gatorade bath" and the Bluegrass Miracle. Sometimes we all need to remember Yogi Berra saying "It ain't over till it's over" but do the coaching staffs have to drill this in the youth of the kids playing the game.

Is it a coaching issue when you are passing and snapping the ball with 15 seconds on the play clock while choking away a 34-point lead?

It's a coaching issue when:

-You have the greatest offensive player in the history of the school and still manage to lose 6 games with him at quarterback

-You lose a game 59-0 when the team completely quits on your starting quarterback

-You have three straight seasons where you start 5-0 or better and finish 8-5

-You have both your starting and backup quarterbacks (both 5 star players) transfer out of your program 6 days apart in the month of December as your team is getting ready for its bowl game

-You lose a game in which you lead 44-10 with just over 19 minutes of game time left.

If you are a player and up by 30 in the second half and grab the pimp stick... it really ought to be okay. Don't you think??

Honestly UCLA got a hand on field goal try but otherwise didn't do a whole lot else on their own. They got LOTS of help. It was all about coaching, play calling, clock management, personnel decisions, etc...etc... on the OFFENSIVE side of the ball.

The play prior was on the UCLA 12. Run the ball and at worse it's a 30 yard attempt instead of a 43-yard attempt by the backup punter.

Like I said in my post above... 'It was all about coaching, play calling, clock management, personnel decisions, etc...etc... on the OFFENSIVE side of the ball."

Even so, UCLA did get a hand on the ball. Should we have have been running earlier.. frick yes. We ended up getting a big lead in the first half but truth is our first FG in the 1st Q came after passing on first and second for no GD reason on 1st and goal inside the 5 when we were simply gutting them with the run.

Too many frick ups to count and they piled up on top of each other. You and I are on the same frustrating page.
