...and why haven't they hired this guy yet??

If they hired him, they'd be competing for the SEC East within 3 years

Didn't Briles turn down people the last go 'round? And plus, it's not like UT didn't try before Butch Jones.

Can't be fixated on recruiting rankings IMO.

Briles is a good coach. Shaggybevo posters want him to replace Mack Brown as Texas HC.

Briles: 1 conference title in 10 years

Butch Jones: 4 conference titles in 6 years

We should have traded UT to the MAC for 6 flags coupons.

Then we wouldn't be having to read about the stupid TSIO over and over. such a meaningless game...

Baylor fans say that Briles turned down interest from Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas to stay in Waco. If that's the case, then I think he is really just waiting for Mack Brown to retire. If he can demonstrate he can win in the B12 w/ Baylor recruits, that might go a long way towards convincing the UTx brass he's the man for their job.

UT is too hard of a job. A coach is only going to last 3 years there. They have to play 4 teams every year with better players than they have. Fan support is at an all time low. Athletic Department is broke. It's not that good of a job.

Jones is a disaster hire, but their AD is broke so they had to settle for 5th on the list. If I'd told vol fans that they were gonna hire the head coach that Dooley destroyed as their next coach, they all would've collectively hung themselves after that game in 2011.

Kiffin and Dooley didn't have highly ranked recruiting classes?

Based on everything the conferences 3 new head coaches in Jones, Gus, and Stoops have brought to the table so far from marketing to recruiting. I'd say Jones is doing everything right so far

2013 UT Spring game breaking attendance record says otherwise. large & loyal fanbase is one of UT's greatest assets.

you're crazy if you think UT's boosters aren't loaded with ca$h. as for debt, you have to spend money to make money. notice how Mississippi schools, Vandy, and UK has the least debt.

State of Georgia is top 3~top 4 talent rich state in the nation and UGA is the flagship school there with a great tradition. even counting recent dumpster fire years, UT beat out UGA 6 times in the last decade.
