When was the last time LSU expected to beat Alabama?

Maybe 2012? not sure. Know it's been awhile though.

2007 was probably the last time we were favored?
2010 maybe because we were at home and they weren't championship-level good

Last year. We always expect to beat Bama. The last time the media expected it was probably the 2011 National Championship game.

The only time I didn't expect to beat them in the last 10 years was 2013. This is the most confident I've been in victory since 2010 tho

I disagree. Everything screamed for Bama to be the more motivated team. LSU was going into the game having already beat the opponent on the road. There is no way LSU was going to be into the game as much as Bama which was the stupidity of the poll manipulation and the mulligan.

Alabama was a 6-point favorite for the GotC.
They're always a big favorite in this game. I think they were a 9-point favorite on our field in 2012.

Similar to the Tennessee/LSU rematch in the SECCG in the early 2000s... no way Tennessee was going to be into the game as much as LSU.

Alabama has had the better team every game since, but usually by a very small margin though.
The closeness and outcomes of the games reflects that. Alabama usually winning, but in a dog fight that comes down to the very last few minutes (or OT).

If you can't get motivated for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME what the hell game can your team ever be motivated for?

Every year. Outside of 2013 and title game when has this game not been up for grabs.

As far as thinking LSU out right had the better team and should win, it was probably 2011, maybe 2012 but i dont know if i thought LSU was the better team or just blinded by wanting revenge. I think all years after that was more of a "Bama might be a little better but we can win this game and still have things fall right for us this season.
This is the first year since 2011 that i feel like best game vs best game that LSU beats Bama.
