Could butch be the first HC fired in the same season in which his team played in the conference championship game?

Butch will claim backing into the championship game as a Divisional Championship along with the possibility with a 'bowl championship', and it doesn't matter what bowl is it.

If Tennessee wins the East, but remains unranked...it will be the first time an unranked team has won an SEC divisional championship. The lowest ranked so far was 1998 Mississippi State & 1995 Arkansas (both at #23). It would only be the third time a team has won an SEC division with 3 conference losses (2010 USCe, 2002 Arkansas).

I seem to remember LSU going to the SECCG in 2001 with 3 losses.
