I'll laugh when they get hit with a 1 year bowl ban four times.

I'll laugh when they get a lifetime bowl ban.

The NCAA is out for blood. No way Ole Miss gets out do this with just a one year bowl ban.

I like the wishful thinking though

Up until the 2016 draft it was the AD saying they were squeaky clean and Freezus was pure as the driven snow.

The longer this drags out, the worse this is for OM.

The only reason Ole Miss will not get the death penalty is, what happened to SMU.

Ole Miss is about to get hard.

Not at all because it would ensure that podunk schools like Ole Miss will never get another decent recruit again. The bigger schools will just have all the top athletes on roster as they will just allow boosters to pay the students tuition to get over the scholarship limitations. If that is all that Ole Miss gets for 20 + violations, then a bigger, better school would get even less for even more violations. The NCAA would seal its fate as being nutless and weak and college football would turn into legitimate openly minor league pro football.

There will not be one single Mississippi fan around this place the day penalties are handed down or for weeks following.

This is going to be better than the Nutt implosion. Ole miss fans were in complete denial then too.

1) 2 year Bowl ban

2) 15 schollies lost

3) 5 years probation

4) Must keep Hugh Freeze as coach for the next 6 years.

Really I'd be happy with just #4.

As a long time LSU fan, I do not get pissed about anything to do with the Black Bears. The other HC's in the SEC, though, will be furious from all the stories out there re their feelings about Freeze's recruiting. A lot of the blame is going to Moo State, but there are plenty enough other league schools who would love to see the Black Bears get their just deserts.

A bowl ban really only matters when a team is good enough to be bowl eligible. Since Ole Miss will not be good enough, it will almost be like a 10 year bowl ban

Are you kidding?

We would be thrilled to death if you got only a 1 year bowl ban. The conference would be overjoyed.

Why?

Because now its anything goes time in recruiting. You think recruiting is tough now wait until the deep pockets start casually dropping a quarter of a million on a player.

Thrill to the spectacle of A&M's oil money buying players left and right while the Tyson/Walmart cash for Arkansas snaps up talent. Marvel at how Alabama's dedicated fans pump the GDP of small countries into their recruiting slush fund. Just think of how much money SEC teams would pump into recruiting.

That is just the SEC. Nike will start outright hiring players for Oregon and Notre Dame might finally return to the true elite.

You want to get slapped down with a penalty that will make other programs refrain from doing this. It will hurt you for a good long while but you won't have to match the likes of Bama or A&M when it comes to payoffs.

What if they get a 54 year ban from winning the SEC.....oh wait, they already have that.
