does Slime allow Florida to contact Mullen and Freeze. Would he allow the two coaches whose teams are in the Top 4 and undefeated attention be interrupted to at least gauge interest in the job. I'm pretty sure both would say no but if I was Foley I would want to hear that myself before pursuing any others.

Does he have any control over this? Seems like restraint on trade is a bad thing.

it's already been announced he's not getting fired in the next 2 weeks.

You really have give it to Foley, he knows how to hire football coaches: Zook, Meyer, Muschamp.
I bet he can't wait to talk to Dinardo and Shula.

Florida has a better chance at getting Jimbo Fisher from FSU than Mullen or Freeze

Unfortunately, the earliest we will see him fired is after Georgia. It's all kind of dumb to wait since recruiting will certainly be affected. It's also tough to get a new coach mid-season from a team that is already doing well. Maybe Foley contacts the first one to lose?

All job inquiries have to go through SEC office if coach of interest is at another SEC school

Interesting. But why should he stop a school from reaching out to a coach, and allowing that coach the opportunity to do the same?

How about contacting their agent?

UF won't have to contact him, Mullen's agent will contact UF.

That's how it's done, typically.

A deal could be all but sealed between a coach and a school without the coach and the AD having said one word to each other. Agents negotiate, not the coach. The only person Dan Mullen is going to be 100% honest with is his agent. If he loves MSU like he says then he is in the perfect position to pull a Kevin Sumlin and get paid what he wants by staying. Same with Freeze. Gonna be very interesting to see how it plays out.

I personally don't even want Mullen. I was never a big fan of his here. I'm not sure he's a proven head coach, either. This year is a fluke because of his senior-laden team (ever other year at Mississippi State he's done nothing). He is the most likely candidate though since he will bail on Mississippi State since he will suck there for years to come after his seniors leave.
