They kick arse and take names. This shite embarrassing

We didn't get to Omaha. Florida did.
And while we've also been to 6 championship games/series, we've lost 4 while LSU has won every single one of them. To put us in the same category as them in regards to winning championships is silly.

I'll give you that, since you never really did say championships.

Why would we show up in this thread?
Posted on 6/21/16 at 7:25 pm to kbrake37
But SCAR hasn't beaten Auburn in football since before Omaha was founded.

Just getting there is a huge accomplishment according to DVH and his followers.

Outside of Bertman's last title team at the turn of the century, and the great 2009 team with two huge bodied ace pitchers and some moxie hitters..
LSU has nary a CWS win in the 2000s, with some 2-and-q mixed in..
Unlike Bertman, who actually used have his team tank SECT some years in order to rest for Regionals and CWS, Mianieri likes to have team shoot it's wad in Hoover trying to win the tourney..which has helped lead to some of the Stony Brook and Coastal Caro results(better teams than LSU those yrs) and a Hoodini-like escape vs UC-Irvine too(LSU was the more talented/better team this series)
LSU isn't on par with the Left Coast teams in terms of situational hitting awareness, running the bases correctly, and flawless fielding, if gonna try win in Ameritrade's "small ball era"..
LSU's Omaha "clutch" reputation resides in Stanley led teams and his incredible pregame speeches in geeking his team to play to it's maximum peak..and he hasn't coached in a long time. Since 2000, USCe>>LSU in terms of Omaha.

Woah Minnesota, when were they good at college baseball?
I am not being sarcastic, genuinely interested because I found it interesting.

Ages ago. Minny was a monster in Foots in early 1900s under Henry Williams and Bernie Bierman in 1930s. In Bases during 1950s/1960s under Dick Siebert.

Wasn't Winfield drafted by all three mens pro sports? Or just two?
I remember his ugly Padre uni baseball card as a kid.

Winfield drafted by four teams in three sports:
Atlanta Hawks (NBA, not sure round) and Utah Stars (ABA, not sure round)
Minnesota Vikings (NFL, 17th round)
San Diego Padres (MLB, 1st round, 4th overall)

I just Wiki'd Bertman era CWS W-L, he started 7-7, went to 25-7ish at late juncture, then 25-11 ,then finished 4-0 in 2000 for a 29-11 mark in CWS games.
Laval led LSU to CWS in 2003 and 2004, both 2-and-q, both with USCe finishing off the Tigs.
29-11 + 0-4 = 29-15 pre-Mainieri(who went 5-1 to win CWS 2009 title) = 34-16
LSU now at 35-20? Means that outside of the 2009 season, and post-Bertman, LSU is 0-4 under Laval and 1-4 under Mainieri sans 2009 CWS..Since 2001 LSU is 6-9 in Omaha on strength of a 5-1 run in 2009..1-4 at Ameritrade..hardly clutch.
