Way to use one of the worst examples to aid your point. Before clicking, I thought, "hmmm, maybe", then you throw up that nonsense.
I'll never understand some southern states particular affinity for the confederate flag. In an official capacity I mean. I think everyone has ignorant rednecks who know nothing about states rights or even simply US history, but the lingering of the confederate flag within certain state governments is weird to me.
There are a couple perfectly acceptable and respectable ways to "honor your heritage": Cemeteries (on individual graves), and Museums.

When it wasn't a sin to not be politcally correct in college sports

Are you saying white people captured these people? Maybe you should read some history before you make such bold proclamations. Slaves were sold to white people by their own people who just happened to NOT be white. What happened after that is all history. It wasn't Americans who purchased those people it was the British. So I don't understand why we are still taking shite for something the limey brits started.

Whitey just bought what the Black man was selling. Which happened to be his own people.

Who cares what your yankee arse thinks. You don't belong in this conference and should just shut up and go back into your safe space and think about where your next poop swastika will be placed on that ever emptying campus.

How's the first black student body president in the history of your school working out?
OH wait, he's not. Because he never made it to his inauguration because the vote was rigged so that Bama could say they weren't racist, only to make themselves look 100x more racist in the process.
I am guessing you've never heard of Cleo Thomas.

Heritage. Does Illinois go on and on about their heritage? Or New Mexico. Or whatever. Who gives a shite
Jesus Christ.
I really wonder if the US would care if florida or Mississippi seceded?
Could an army of jorts and mullets hold off the Cuban invasion?

That's what I expect or some kwanza looking shite that they created to take away from Christmas and get another week off of work. Then Feb rolls around and it's another month long holiday.

No. There are good and bad things about the history of the South, the Confederacy is clearly in the "bad things" pile.

Florida was barely a state when all that shite happened and was very uninvolved. We may have had maybe 2 battles in this state. But yet, we get grouped into the hate of the yankee pussies. We don't care assholes! You hate us because you ain't us. True story!!

As opposed to the old monuments of traitorous thugs who viewed rape, torture, theft and murder as "way of life" worth killing hundreds of thousands of American patriots to preserve.

Don't know what is more pitiful and pathetic: The OM 1963 NC or the Bama Gump Neanderneck "No life what-so-ever outside of supporting Alabama football" obsession.

You understand Auburn has the least diverse student body in the entire conference, ranking more than 2,000 (TWO THOUSAND) spots lower than Alabama nationally?
This was a major factor in me choosing to attend Auburn over Alabama. Almost everyone that I know that went to Alabama got mugged at least once on the way to class or had their house broken into. But it's cool that you guys have a more diverse student body than we do/did.

The War of Northern Aggression was brought on in an unconstitutional manner. The south had the legal right to form their own country. So many died and it did not have to occur. The Union was not fighting to free slaves.
The emancipation proclamation freed only Southern Slaves, northern slaves were freed years later.
Slavery was wrong, but the winners write the history books. The truth is more complex
However now is the time to send the flags and statues to Museums or confederate graveyards. Alabama needs to stop having state holidays for civil war heros.
