Auburn gets top-10 recruiting classes year in and year out. However are they are top ten program? Absolutely not. They are hardly a top-10 program in the SEC. They've lost five games 6 of the last 8 seasons. Only one time in that span have they beaten more than 2 of their 3 biggest rivals. 30-27 in SEC play and 3 bottom 2 finishes in the West in that frame.

So why don't they get the underachiever label as often as say Georgia? The only logical explanation is that those who closely follow SEC Football AKA tRant never have positive expectations for Auburn in the first place. So to those who know, they do deliver the 7-5 seasons that we've come to expect from our friends in Auburn.

Considering auburn is one of the most successful "little brother" schools in the nation, probably never.
