That's just when I first remember seeing it. Maybe that when you just went overboard with it.

I feel like there was another reason during chiz's tenure that you guys began focusing a lot more on auburn...

maybe...just maybe it was always there?

Daddies should always try to make their children achieve more, what's so weird about that?

Maybe, but none of my friends mentioned it until that era, and most of my friends are Auburn fans.

Haven't heard that one in a while.

You get my respect just for the mention of the former SID. He was always cordial host, though, in the depressed (press) box. The war rant he did is hilarious. Forgot about all of it until you mentioned his name, well, sort of.

I think that is when it reached its zenith.

Do you remember when it started NYC?

I thought I saw a shirt one time about friends not letting friends go to auburn.

When you grow up around Montgomery, you don't have much of a choice.

I have never saw a school go to such great lengths to explain away having such a marginalized and small fan base.

Not sure about the "family" stuff, but exactly how does Auburn have a small fan base?

It looks like they were 11th nationally in attendance last season. I've always thought of Auburn as having a pretty normal fan base in terms of size... at least relative to other SEC programs.

I don't why he claimed that extra one damn him. So the fambly "public private school" myth started way back then? It didn't seem to take off until much later.

Because of the AU propaganda that only AU alums are AU fans. How many living Auburn grads can there be?
