Dabo and Kirby? I think its realistic that thats the two it will come down to when Saban retires. Outside chance of Kiffin but I think Dabo would take it in a hearbeat. Should be a great game. Great season!

Dabs would be fricking stupid to leave Clemson for Bama. He's a legend at Clemson and I'm sure he they will match the offer.

Dabo too goofy to succeed Saban, and he's got a good thing where he is. I bet the first call is to Jimbo Fisher.

Dabs will leave Clemson quickly when he is offered the Bama job in a few years.

Nothing against Clemson but he is a Bama guy. His dream job.

Kirby will be a Georgia lifer if he's successful. He's from there, played there, and won't leave for anywhere else unless he crashes and burns.

I doubt either one wants to follow Saban.
Realistically, they are each at a school that can compete for championships and it is hard to be the guy to follow the guy.
What Saban has done is unprecedented. I don't think It is sustainable for much longer. He is six sigma.

Good point about a tough job to replace a legend. I think Kiffin is the most underrated part of this team. Kirby's gone but I don't think Saban gives a damn. They'll continue to get 4 and 5 star athletes on defense. I'm just surprised that as deep as the SEC is talent-wise, there can only be one champion and ultimately Bama hoards all the accolades to themselves. The other schools don't have shite to show for it.

If Saban retires in the next few years, God forbid, we will likely give Dabo a shot, deservedly so.

I don't know if he will be able to stand the Alabama pressure cooker given how emotional he is, but he's clearly done a great job at Clemson with far less resources and talent than he'd have at Bama.

Did football begin in 2014?

Alabama is certainly the most storied program, but there are several championship programs in SEC.1996,1998 2006,2007,2008,2010 were all SEC teams not named Bama that won the bcs title.

Dabo walked on at UA, played and coached there. If he's leaving Clemson for anywhere its UA.

When Mama calls....

Edit. He also won a NC there with Stallings I believe.

Nobody strikes fear in other teams like Alabama though. That's why OSU's victory over Bama last year was all the more impressive. And props to Auburn the previous year. Florida State looked like a juggernaut in 2013 and the Tigers had them until the very end. It took a Herculean effort but the Noles got it done. I am one of the few people on here who said Auburn played so far above what many other people were expecting in that last BCS game. LSU had some good seasons but that ship seemed to sail. Florida will never be what it was under Spurrier and Meyer. Tennessee will rise again. Arky will win a natty in the next 20 years. It will happen. Keep feeding Bert.

Whoever is the best available coach is who Bill Battle should go after, regardless if they played at Bama or not.

That's a given. The GOB network of hiring only coaches with Bama ties is over.

Just saying that right now Dabo looks like the best coach not named Saban who would still be young enough to come to UA when Saban steps down from coaching.

Danantonio would be too old and has health concerns already.

And frick Urban Meyer. I'd take Shula back before I would want Meyer.

It will take a certain kind of coach to want to follow Saban anyway. Maybe Miles.

I just cant see Dabo turning down the HC at Bama. I dont think anyone else could lure him away though. I do agree with it will be tough to follow Saban and thats why i think it would have to be someone who the fans could get behind and someone who loves Alabama. As of right now Kirby and Dabo would be who i put my money on. With Dabo being the 1st guy. Kirby may very well never leave Georgia.
