When Alabama plays well, there is no team in the nation that can beat them

i hate saying that, but they clearly have the most talent in the nation, and when they play well, there's no team in the country that can compete with them. The four #1 recruiting classes are clearly paying off, and every single player on the front 7 is NFL caliber. Add that to the depth at the skill positions and it's just frightening. Congrats on the win Bama, and I hope y'all have quite the letdown game next week against Dak and company.

They've had a top 3 recruiting class for at least 5 years so of course that's the case. Does Saban get the most from his players day in and day out? Meh. Yesterday his defensive front certainly did.

Really any team with a decent defense and an offense that can go up tempo and spread the field opening up running lanes can beat bama. See OU in 2013 against a better bama team, aTm with johnny, and Ole miss two years in a row. You cant power run at saban ever and expect to win.

You definitely can't outpower them. If Saban wanted to build a team to run the spread and and stop the spread he could, he chooses to play this type of football.

I don't think there is a way to build a team to dominate every style, Saban has done a great job tho.

I agree Saban is the best coach out there and bama is a monster right now. No doubt he could build a team to stop other offenses as well. Power running teams win championships...just not against Alabama in current form.

I think other than the kicking game, Saban certainly recruits to his system better than anyone in the game.

What happens to the kickers, punters and returners when Coach Williams works with them?

No I misspoke I mean a team with those characteristics has the best shot vs bama. Meant to emphasize the "CAN beat"

This Bama defense is far better equipped to face a spread team than the 2013 unit. That game along with a few others caused Saban to adjust. For example, most of Bama's d linemen LOST weight over summer in an effort to get faster. The impressive thing is that they got lighter and can still stone a traditional offense.

There is no doubt the 2013 offense was better, but the offense wasn't the problem in that game.

In short, spread teams are not near the threat they were as recently as 2014. They are still more effective, but the gap has narrowed greatly.

All those games were turnover fest for Bama. If you can't turn bama over you don't win. Ole Miss was able to beat Bama two years because bama fumbled kickoffs inside the 20. OU was able to turn Bama over and Bama threw a pick on the goal line against Aggy in 2012 instead of running Lacy for a 2 yard score.

If Bama plays a clean game or the turnover margin is even then they are virtually impossible to beat.

Would be an interesting stat. When was the last game they last with a even or even -1 turnover margin.

See OU in 2013 against a better bama team

Do you really not get the fact that our team thought they should be playing for the national championship trophy instead of some shitty sugar bowl title against the Sooners? (one fluke play away) Just like the Utah game a few years earlier. If you don't get that, you don't understand the psychology of college football.

Bama plays with the national championship as the goal every year. If we fall short, the motivation wanes.
