No. 8-ranked LSU and 7,500 of its closest friends invade Syracuse

There's no doubt that it will be the largest home crowd to date in the 49,262-seat Carrier Dome. LSU fans began filtering in here Thursday night and more than 7,500 of the purple-and-gold faithful are expected to be in the stands Saturday.

Some local bars agreed to open earlier than usual Saturday morning to accommodate the partying visitors.

Exposure. Plus, LSU is giving fans a chance to watch games in iconic venues. Next year, the Tigers play in Lambeau Field...

And that would be worth traveling to see. Syracuse, not so much.

This is why I made friends with the nerds at UAH's ChemE department. Recreational pharmacology makes for strange bedfellows.

Personally, I love seeing the LSU AD scheduling games like this. Loved the Seattle trip in 2009...

I think it's cool that LSU plays these away games at cool venues.

Our AD schedules away games at Arkansas State, Indiana, and Memphis State
