LSU-coaching

Tennessee-coaching

Florida-coaching

You'd think with the budget these programs have, and the recruiting classes they bring in that they would be able to hire a successful coach. Pathetic

LSU and UF are great programs but they aren't blue bloods. The SEC has Bama and Tennessee as blue bloods.

Is LSU being a better program than Mizzou the reason why y'all didn't make the championship game after the 2007 season?

Says the fan of the school that had to "promote from within" for their HC because no one else wanted that shitty job

UT is not a blue blood. They are no more successful than LSU. The SEC has Bama, then 4-5 really great programs.

Nah. Just Bama.

The blue bloods of cfb are Bama, OU, USC, ND, Ohio State and that's about it

College Football Royalty

I think you can categorize the blue bloods of the SEC though, "SEC Royalty." That would be the big 6
These 6 programs should always be at least somewhat feared nationally. These programs will always have top budgets, fanfare, and "talent."
UT, UF, and LSU aren't there this year. We'll see about Auburn and UGA, they look dangerous after week 1 though

We've had 1 game man

OSU lost to UR West VA (ended 7-6) in the 2nd game of 2014. They won the national championship that year.

That is the exception not the rule. But yes it is definitely possible.

I hope one of us finish strong like that. At this moment though we aren't the feared programs we all once were not that long ago

We are obviously capable of that level of play, the fact that we haven't recently is what this thread is about

These programs don't have the money you think they do.

LSU is about broke with the state in fiscal crises. The
Kiffin debacle left Tennessee in financial shambles.

Florida will be fine. With Spurrier now signed on as an 'adviser', they'll be back soon enough.

Yeah Spurrier's half arse input is gonna make a huge difference and the coaching staff is gonna be so receptive to it in the 30 minute weekly meetings

LSU is broke, LSU athletic department absolutely is not.

The school doesn't pay for coaches or facilities. The athletic department pays for all of this, then throws the school a cool 7 million. All the while turning down 15 million dollars in private funds to buyout a coach that lost 3 games.

I think we have plenty of drive and money.

Meddling politicians were our issue last year. This year they will realize how important a winning football team is when the AD will have a down year revenue wise.
God forbid the state would actually have to give money to the athletic department like the vast majority of D1 schools instead of receive it. They know that is likely if they don't right the ship soon.
I think they'll let the AD spend their own money along with private funds to fix the problem now. PC is fun and all until you look at the spread sheet
