They're gonna attempt to un-redneck it, but...

I wish they wouldn't change it one bit.

This is the plan. From what I understand it's paid for.

I might have to drive back from Texas to see it when it is finished in 2 years.

A part of me agrees, but some of that stuff was really getting to be a hazard.

I just can't get past the liability msu assumes with that shantytown in the outfield.

No disrespect because it awesome, but it's like what an 8 year old would build with some wood and nails from his dad's garage.

I agree here. I asked about that once to someone in the know and was told that the school turns a blind eye to it and just doesn't inspect it. Since they don't inspect it they don't assume liability for it, which I found really hard to believe that would fly.

Yeah, that's not how that works. Source: lawyer.

Ironically the only part of it to ever collapse was the deck the university built

That is the main reason they are building a new one and tearing the old down. They are worried one will collapse soon and would rather rebuild now than wait for that to happen and do it.

It is a miracle that someone has not died from a fall. I am sure there have been falls and injuries but they have been kept hush hush over the years.
However, today with social media and so many sue happy people, it was probably a matter of time before the University found itself embroiled in a liability lawsuit over the death/injury of someone.

So I am like most of you. I loved the old LFL but understand that permanent structures make more sense in today's world.
Also, it looks like the amenities they will have will be very nice from a convenience standpoint.

Mixed emotions about it but nothing ever stays the same forever and the new LFL will be really cool once it is completed.,

I haven't seen the final plans, but the first option I saw had those as annual rentals at something like $50,000 /year.
