I know the suspension and investigations, however what is going on with Freeze and the players?

He went for it on 4th down deep in his own territory and the gamble didn't pay off, plus the players just looked flat. It showed confidence in his team to go for it. And most teams have a flat game during the run of the season. Certainly there isn't a rumbling volcano ready to erupt in the locker room! Have the players held a "players only" meeting or something?

Haven't heard anything about a players only meeting, but as an Ole Miss fan who lives in Oxford, I can tell you that fans are frustrated, as well as the players. This frustration has had an effect on Freeze and the coaching staff, and they're trying to give life to the fan base again. Hasn't worked so far.

Could get very uncomfortable if OM loses this weekend to Aggie

Funny....locker room issues and coaching issues always come up when you are losing games but they don't come up when you are winning games.

The real reality of the season for Ole Miss is that they peaked at the start of the season and are fading now.

Memphis didn't have more talent. They were just coached better.

No shite. Could that be because locker room issues and coaching issues cause losses?

Dumbass.

Not sure...I will say this though...the same guy that told me Shea Patterson's brother would be hired by OM and that Patterson would commit months before it actually happened...told me he is hearing that Patterson (and his dad) is wavering big time on the commitment to OM.

Look for Florida and Florida State to jump into the conversation soon.

Locker room issues and coaching issues is always stupid default blah blah blah that random fans come up with to try and cope with losses.

Has been that way for a long time for any fan base.

Why? We are still a ranked team, unlike a lot of your schedule.

You linked to another thread on this site.

Should've just said there is no source and it's pure speculation.

Florida State could use a better QB in the 2016 class since that Henry guy has been garbage his senior season.

The big issue (not the only) is that the defense took a big step back this year. Mainly it was the back 7 (which was the strength in 2014). Lost Golson, Prewitt, and the two starting linebackers to graduation which hurt more than we wanted to believe. Losing Tony Conner was the straw that broke the camel's back for the back 7. The Dline has lost Isaac Gross, who always got great penetration.

However, whether it's due to talent or just the coaching staff; the db's have been playing very soft all year. They give far too much cushion to the receivers and TE. If it's 3rd and 8, no problem since the db is 12 yards off the line.

There is a coaching issue that could be a major source of the problem for the defense. After last year, LB Coach Tom Allen accepted the DC position at USF. Instead of finding a spark plug on the sidelines to replace Allen with, they promoted a staffer up from an off the field position. He's now coaching the Safeties, and Wommack (DC) went from coaching safeties to LBers.

For whatever reason, Ole Miss doesn't have much depth and they are beat to hell right now with a good portion of their best players either playing injured or injured and not playing at all out for weeks. Couple this with the fact that their bye week is 10 weeks into the season and it's a recipe for a mess.

Or injuries...

We lost two road games, one meaning absolutely nothing and the other being an SEC East opponent.

This weekend will show if it's time to fully panic, which I think we will be come Saturday night. People forget, Ole Miss and LSU are the only West teams that control their own destiny.

Two loses from teams with a combined record of 12-1. Any chance everyone is over reacting considering all the injuries?
