At the end of the day, he decided that staying home, playing for a goofy/mentally challenged head coach, and losing 3-5 games a year was better than going to a place where he'd win a couple NC's and perhaps a Heisman trophy.
He's a native son of Louisiana. He wanted to play for LSU. Get over it, Alabama. You did just fine without him.

I never said that there was anything wrong with that. That was his decision and I doubt that he has any regrets. Good for him.

nterestingly, speaking of beating Arkansas, a good analogue for how Fournette will be remembered would be McFadden. A great RB whose teams weren't good enough to elevate him to the true legend status he had the potential to achieve.
Huh? Fournette isn't in McFadden's league. McFadden put the team on his back and carried them to wins. Fournette quit on the team after a disappointing start citing an "injury." McFadden went to New York for the Heisman ceremony twice and won the Doak Walker award twice. Just like with Fournette, everyone knew Arkansas was going to run it, but McFadden excelled while Fournette folded.

Don't bring common sense into this thread.
LSU Fans would rather have hester than mcfadden.

You're fricking stupid and speaking out of turn about the injury. I have already explained the injury in this thread.
You're opinion is bull shite as you're speaking on an issue well beyond your intelligence. It's clear you lack even an elementary level understanding of anatomy and biomechanics to grasp the basis of the injury being discussed.

What's fricking stupid is saying Leonard Fournette's name in the same breath as Darren McFadden.
Oh he was hurt? McFadden played through a lot of injuries for his team. Fournette cut up on the sidelines during losses that he didn't play in. He also got in pregame fights with the opposition's coaches in games he wouldn't play in.
He played for a goofy coach who couldn't develop a QB or passing game? McFadden's coach was Houston Nutt and his QB was mostly Casey Dick.
He split carries with another great back? McFadden split carries with Felix Jones.
Some of the things I've mentioned above are why McFadden is a legend and Fournette will be a footnote. The excuses don't hold water in this comparison.

I prefer to look at someone's sophomore and junior year. So Route 66 is cool in my book.

Rushing for 1,953 yards in 12 games in 2015. Averaging 6.4 ypc (career). He would have finished just 250-300 yards behind Herschel as the all-time leading rusher in the SEC.

Really?
They're certainly comparable. In terms of raw talent they're equals.

It does Leonard a great disservice to mention the two in the same breath. After all, Darren is a major bust in the NFL and was always a soft pussy who was just faster than everybody in college. I knew he was gonna suck in the NFL.
As for college production, lets compare the best season for both and see which back is more elite.Shall we?
Leonard Fournette (2015)-12 games 300 carries 1953 yds Avg 6.5 TD 22
Darren Mcfadden (2007)- 13 games 325 carries 1830 yds Avg 5.6 TD 16
You're right. One should not be mentioned in the same breath.

The one who quit on his team is not the "soft pussy" in your argument
ETA: why not post all college production? Hardware?

Apparently, you don't even know much about McFadden's pro career. After his Lisfranc he elected to try conservative treatment. Result? Antalgic running results due to 1st metatarsophalangeal instability (big toe) and chronic inflammation.
Compensation occurs at the subtalar joint (heel/ankle) and internal rotation of the tibia (shin bone rotates inwards). Increased strain often results in a High Ankle Sprain.
High ankle sprain+lisfranc injury severely limited his ability for the next FOUR years. Last year with the Cowboys was after he elected to undergo lateral repair with partial fusion at 1st metatarsal.

Fournette is a douche. He is undisciplined and overrated as frick. He is a once in a generation "athlete" but he is just another good running back from a conference that churns them out like butter.
He had the best single season in SEC history in 2015 FYI
