I attended the 2001 SEC Championship game. All LSU did was run QB draws, and UT had no answer whatsoever. Tennessee needed a win to play in the Nat'l Championship and they couldn't stop a QB draw to save their lives.
2000 Florida vs. Tennessee I attended. 2:14 left in game, Florida gets ball on own 9 down 23-20. Wins 27-23.
2001 UGA vs. Tennessee I attended. Travis Stephens took a screen pass 62 yds for a TD and a 24-20 lead with 44 secs left. Best feeling in the world. Georgia gets ball on own 35, drives down field scores to win 26-24.
3 Chavis heartbreakers. So I went to LSU for school, and he continued to break my heart against Bama.
Stats mean nothing when there's 1 minute left on the clock. All these Aggies do is spit out stats.

Yep, I've watched plenty of games & I know what I have seen under Chavis in certain game situations. Same thing goes for Tennessee fans.

I don't think a single Aggie has said that, and if they have they are dumb. We are going to have an amazing QB with the top WR corps in the nation. Probably another first round pick on the o line, and some meh running backs. Our defensive line will be really good one of the top three or four in the conference, but our linebackers will be shitty. Our safeties will be better than average as well. Our offense will be special, our defense will show some promise.
But I like how you're dismissing the context offered with imaginary anecdotal evidence.

So how many games did the LSU defense win, or put the offense in a great place to win, the last 7 years? 11 or 12 times a season?

I have posted numerous links to games already to see for yourself. I'm not going to post them over & over again.

your best argument against Chavis
...is that the Chief was a downgrade to Pelini. I'm being serious when I say, that if I could go back in time and convince one of our past DC's to never leave LSU, it would be Pelini.
Not Chavis.

Just sit back and enjoy your new DC.

Alot. He's a good coach overall.
He will drive you nuts though. Do you like playing not to lose when you're up by 3?

The problem is there was really not many 3rd downs to work with in the last 2 minutes. I see you Ags going nuts talking about Snyder lining up his DBs 10 yards off the ball........just wait

Not Chavis.
So you prefer the guy who gave you top 5 defenses to the guy who gave you top 10 defenses? OK. That's not unreasonable. But it's also not a knock on Chavis.

You don't recall him covering Reche Caldwell one-on-one with a linebacker?
See: every Florida game in the 90s.

I'm glad you brought it up
Chavis career winning percentage when his defense sees the field with a one score lead and under five minutes to go: 77.8% (63-18)
Breaking that down further, of the 18 losses 4 involved the offense turning the ball over inside his team's own 40 and 2 were after kick returns into FG range. In the 63 wins, his offense retook the lead after he lost it six times. So at the absolute worst, we can say Chavis has held onto a one score lead late in games 70% of the time.
Stats thanks to the 247 board.

Why do yall keep posting the Ole Miss 2013 game? Your offense didn't score a point for the first 39 minutes of the game. You never deserved to win

Just being honest. While I appreciate what The Chief did here at LSU, I think him leaving...along with Brick Haley...was the best thing that could happen for LSU.
And maybe for The Chief as well.

I mean. I want my defense to stop the opposing team with the same or better frequency than they did all game, and play great offense to take pressure off the defense. If my team is up by three I know I've done some combination of successful offense and defense enough to get me there. It's unreasonable to expect it to work out in your favor every drive, and the times it doesn't you remember more frequently, but I hope I'll be of sound enough mind to objectively assess blame and success. And as LSU fans, how Chavis deserves any blame for your success, or lack their of, during his tenure, given how embarrassing the offense was, is ridiculous. Y'all could have been mentioned in the same breath as 2001 Miami until 21-0 happened, and that was with one of the worst offenses ever. These arguments are baffling.
