Any like...well known singular plays? That's really what I'm curious about.
Pretty much anything up the middle.

We're blaming the 2001 SECCG on Chavis now?
Tennessee had 3 turnovers, 10 penalties and the defense held LSU to 280 yards.

You mean when Tenn only scored a field goal in the second half?
3 is better than Zero in the whole game right?

Facts are not welcome here. They HATE it

Again, LSU won with it's backup QB running primarily draw plays, after it's starter got knocked out of the game.

And LSU scored 21 points with a backup QB.
15 of which were the result of Tennessee turnovers, and another 3 of which were due to adrive kept alive by not one but two dead ball fouls.
Fans of the team that joined in 2012 shouldnt have to educate you about your own conference's history, especially not about games involving your team.

Is still true. The go ahead TD for LSU was a draw play by the backup QB.
Not rocket science here...

And yet, if Tennessee's offense doesnt turn it over repeatedly and punches it in on three tries from inside the five that game wouldnt have been close. LSU scored 18 points due to errors unrelated to Chavis and his playcalling, and Tennessee cost themselves a ton of points with the offensive mistakes that led to LSU's points.
You can't lose the turnover battle -3, have twice as many penalties as the opponent and blame the DC for losing.

But you can blame him for not stopping the backup QB running primarily draw plays, after his starter got knocked out of the game.

Shh....They only acknowledge what they want to. It's like knowing this sexy arse female. You know several guys who have been with her & they tell you that for as sexy as she is, she's also bat shite crazy. Well all you care about is seeing her in the nude & getting your dick wet so eventually you make it happen. In the end, the crazy bitch ends up slashing tires, throwing bricks through windshields & stalking you. You then realize what you valued from a distance wasn't what it turned out to be once you got up close & personal.

So a QB draw by Matt Mauck nearly 15 years ago is the darkest depths of Chavis' tenure at Tennessee?
And this is supposed to LESSEN our excitement about the hire?

So they did one thing that was mildly successful. If the offense performs in a relatively comparable manner to the defense, Tennessee wins that game handily.

I don't ever recall a MAJOR frick up being mentioned when he was at Tennessee

Matt Mauck's amazing success spamming the QB draw resulted in a grand total of 12 carries for 42 yards.
Matt Mauck averaging 3.5 YPC in a game played when most on this board were in elementary school is the single worst thing they can point to.

If that were an outlying statistic, you might have a point. Tennessee lost a chance to play for the 2001 BCS title because The Chief couldn't stop a R-FR QB from scoring on draw plays. Mauck only completed 5-of-15 passes for 67 yards in that SECG.
You've got not one, but two fan bases telling you essentially the same things. That the Chief sucks at adjusting in the second half, his defense is soft up the middle, and "third and Chavis" is no myth.

Uga 2001? Fulmer deserves some of that blame though.

Like the fact that despite national rankings LSU only averages 8pts less per game over the last 2 years than Sumlin's fun and gun? 8 points per game? 1 score per game.....I thought Sumlin was some sort of GuRu? He's only 1 score per game better than that shitty LSU O
Facts suck

I honestly have no idea, given that Tennessee finished in the top half of the SEC in third down defense 12 of his 14 years as their DC, 9 times in the top 4 and 4 times number 1. His worst ever finish in third down defensive percentage was 9th in the SEC.
To put that in perspective, from 1995 to 2008 LSU finished 9th or worse in third down defense four times.

Nothing occurs in a vacuum. Stopping the draw play might have meant conceding more through the air. That's simple football. The fact of the matter is that loss was on the UT offense shitting all over themselves much like LSU has done the last seven years.
