You always hear about his prevent defense meltdowns at LSU but I don't ever recall a MAJOR frick up being mentioned when he was at Tennessee

Same problems as with LSU. Third and Chavis is real. He is good but that is his weakness. Always has been.

Aggy defense needs to worry about actually getting to 3rd down..baby steps.

3rd and Chavis AKA "my QB had an 11.8 QBR but that's irrelevant"

QBR

A garbage ESPN driven stat

LSU fans were very grateful for 3rd & Chavis in the early 2000s.

LSU beat Tennessee in the 2001 SECCG with it's backup QB running one draw play after another.

You mean when Tenn only scored a field goal in the second half?

Any like...well known singular plays? That's really what I'm curious about.

No, where Chavis defense folded at crucial point in a game. Once or twice, is just unlucky but multiple times with two separate schools is a trend. Sorry, it will happen in College Station too.

And LSU scored 21 points with a backup QB.

It's not really singular plays as you would believe when you hear 3rd & Chavis but it's his habit of playing off man with his corners which allows easy completions underneath & to the sidelines.

Also when he goes to his Mustang package, it usually involves two LB's lining up about even with the outside shoulders of both guards. He'll bring his "rover defender" usually a safety or a player in the position of safety in that alignment into the box. It leaves a huge void in the middle of the middle. See Dak Prescott's TD run up the middle against LSU last season.
