IMO its a close one between miami vs nebraska in 2001 and Bama vs notre dame in 2012. But nebraska had no business being in that game at all.

I have a feeling 1/9/12 is going to be brought up quite a bit.

USC vs Okie

Wrong team was there.

USC vs OU was pretty bad. Still would probably put Miami vs Nebraska as #1.

2001 Orange Bowl. #1 Oklahoma vs. #2 Florida State. Florida State shouldn't have been there even though they were favored to win the game. Final score?

Oklahoma: 13
Florida State: 2

Horribly boring game with very little scoring. Both offenses were anemic.

The difference with that one though is LSU beat Bama that year. LSU was the most deserving team ever to be in the National championship beating the orange, rose, and eventual national champions during the regular season.

ND vs BAMA + every playoff game prior to the champ game. The playoffs have made clear that the four team slate is a joke. In any given year only 2 teams are worth a shite in terms of playing the NC (that's not counting those left out).

Strength of schedule desperately needs to matter again.

Ok, I'm confused. LSU was in the game. If you are trying to persuade us into thinking they should have been in the game.....yes. They should have been in the game. The two best teams in the country played in that game.

No question, fricking Oklahoma, always over-ranked.

I have never seen a team get their arse kicked in a national championship game like Fla did vs Nebraska. That was one of the most physical arse whippings I have ever seen in a college football game period. It was brutal.

My point is it makes the game seem worse if the undeserving team goes in there and gets their asses kicked. Nebraska went in not even winning their conference. Many felt Auburn should have gone ahead of OU in 2005 and many felt Notre Dame had no business being in there with Bama.

1957 IB. 40-0 barn. Win and they are the AP NC. Lose and they are not.

USC vs OU.

That said USC would've pussy punched Auburn too.

1971 Orange Bowl...Nebraska destroyed Alabama 38-6. I went back to my hotel room, packed my bags and drove back to Tuscaloosa that night.

It didn't matter who Miami was playing. No one in 2001 would have come within 3 scores of them that day.

2006 Florida/Ohio State was pretty bad too. It became obvious really quickly in that game that OSU had no chance.

The National Championship Gane between Bama and Texas was unwatchable after McCoy went down. Saban knew Texas had no shot at winning unless Bama turned the ball over so they played super conservative football and it was not easy on the eyes. Also, the Oklahoma-Florida State game was incredibly boring. Neither team could move the ball at all. The only TD came when OU returned an INT deep into FSU territory.
