What was the point in keeping Les after last season?

Serious question. After last season's debacle, what was the point in keeping him only through week 4? Strange moves. Your AD seems to have the temperament of a 14 year old girl breaking up with her middle school boyfriend.

Recruiting. They didn't want to lose their commitments.

This makes their administration look ridiculous. Miles had this coming and LSU is better off without him but their AD needs to go with him. This is not how you secure a big name coach in the offseason.

They have a dumbass running their university and a communist governor running their state. For starters.

Serious answer:

The incoming Governor wanted to cut TOPS and cut funding to LSU and other colleges in LA and increase Medicaid spending. It was really going to look bad for his agenda if LSU was firing a coach, paying him off $15 million and then paying a new coach $6 million.

So, he told the LSU president, King Alexander, to stop the firing of Miles. King Alexander fell in line and stopped our AD, Aleva, from firing him.

There wasn't. LSU's administration caved under pressure last year. Because of poor decision making like that from the top down, LSU has wasted generational talents (Simmons and Fournette) in the two most important college sports over the span of only 3 years.

In my opinion they just delayed and extended the recruiting pain. Firing a coach and keeping an interim (especially for 8-9 games) doesn't usually work well.
