Growing up a Vanderbilt fan we went to the 1974 Peach Bowl. Texas Tech and Vandy tied 6-6 in a game generally listed as one of the worst bowl games ever. This was at the old Atlanta Stadium that was one of the 1960's cookie cutter football/baseball stadia where the end zone seats were generally the best. To make things worse, Texas Tech hired Steve Sloan three days later after Jim Carlen left for South Carolina.

For LSU,it was the 1985 Sugar Bowl. LSU was the SEC's "representative" after Florida was declared ineligible (LSU and Florida tied, 21-21). LSU led Nebraska 10-0 in the second, but Neb took over and won 28-10.

1994 Gator Bowl, which was held in Gainesville that year. Gainesville is still a shitty place, even without the gator fans.

Anyway, we beat the shite out of Virginia Tech 45-23

35-18 Win over Texas Tech in 1998 in the first of many trips to Shreveport under the guidance of David Cutcliffe.

(Many = 3. It felt like a lot more though.)

1993 gator bowl over North Carolina was first.

21-0 over LSU was last, but will go to championship game this year if Bama makes it.

Edited to correct gator bowl year...dammit, I'm getting so old I'm starting to forget years.

Ohio State vs LSU in tBCSNCG. It's actually the only bowl game I've seen them play in person. I do plan on attending a playoff game in the near future though(whenever that opportunity arises again).

Saw Ole Miss play Michigan in the 1990(91) Gator Bowl. First saw State play in a bowl when we beat A&M in the 2000 Independence Bowl when it snowed 6 inches.

1968 Gator Bowl. Got our arse kicked by Missouri. I was 9 years old and Dad was part of the medical staff so we felt like part of the team. Howard Cosell came to a party in Dad's hotel suite a long with most of the coaches. I'll never forget how tall Cosell was. Cool stuff.

During the game I remember Coach Bryant got a personal penalty called on him for cussing the ref. But I think he was just trying to motivate our players who were playing like shite.
