Every year, the SEC is fortunate enough to have some great players, known previously only by their team's die hard fans, break out and become a known person.

So name a few guys and give an explanation explaining why they will be a stud and why no one has heard of them yet

Exapmle in post below by me but do it in this format

Player Name - Position - Classification - Explanation of who he is and why excited

RULES

-Player can not be a highly recruited player out of HS. We all know that 5* is supposed to be a stud, we want to hear about the guys that at a quick glance weren't supposed to contribute

-Player can't be a multi-year starter. At that point, they are well known (unless there is an obvious exception)

-Player can't be/or expected to be on a preseason watch list

Look, it isn't hard. Just talk about guys you are excited about most people haven't heard of and give us a reason we should be excited to see them showcase their talent.

What if that 5 star stud had trouble adapting to LA humidity, suffered an early injury in practice, and redshirted last year?

For Auburn

- Rasheed Kennion - DE - Soph - Kennion played sparingly as a true freshman for AU before being banged up and despite being undersized at 6'5 225. He has supposedly bulked up to 6'5 ~245 and has gotten rave reviews. He is a former bball forward who has quick feet and a good first step and we are excited about his pass rushing ability and length

-Stephen Roberts/Nick Ruffin - SO - Both played as rotational players as true freshmen at safety. While top recruits, they flew a little under the radar and didn't have a ton of fanfare. Both play aggresively and have the athleticism to make an impact.

Ruffin also hits hard

No they aren't

Regardless just choose one of the lesser known recruits that flew under the radar then

You referring to Clifton? I've never heard the adapting to louisiana humidity story before.

Ronnie Harrison. He'll play special teams and be a beast as a FR (see Mark Barron, Haha Clinton-Dix, and Landon Collins as FR for reference) and will play some on D and will flash. His 2015 season will be a precursor of things to come in 2016 & 2017.

Josh Smith, WR, RS. Soph.....3 star white kid from Knoxville

He showed flashes his true freshman year. Fantastic route runner and sneaky athletic and fast. He was always open, but had a major case of the drops, although the coaches and players say he has best hands on the team.

2014 season he looked to be our best WR, but had a nasty ankle sprain in the Oklahoma game that put him out for the year.

He fits the stereotype of most successful white WRs - great route runner, deceptively fast, strong, and a hard worker.

He'll remind folks of Ryan Swope. He'll fill the stat sheets

CB Dwayne Thomas

Dude looked great last season before season ending injury. Will likely play the nickel this year. Inside of Tre White and Kevin Toliver II. Ed Paris is probably the dime back, absolutely sick amount of talent there. Thomas was a 4-star, but was a low 4-star and seemingly always gets left out with all the other big names in the secondary we have had recently. He committed to LSU very early and didn't rack up a big offer list; other major offers were Arizona, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pitt and Utah.

I think you should just delete that part of the thread for quality purposes. A 4* is a highly recruited player. A 3* with offers from Bama, LSU etc. is a highly recruited player.

Just saw that you found Fournette's little brother as some sort of punchline..? Nice.

Cam Sims. big body receiver should be a redzone threat for bama next year. had 7 catches for 62 yards and a TD last year as a true freshman. body compares favorable to Brandon Marshall, but not sure if he has the same explosiveness.

Jojo Robinson, WR, 5-11, 190 - RS Freshman, Miami Northwestern HS.

Borderline on the 'unknown' part, flipped from Florida State, had offers from LSU, Auburn, TCU... but to most of you Ranters, he will be an unknown.

Maybe if you just stuck to the title's question. You playing this game is ruining the thread. Stop being an a-hole.

Tee Shepherd. Cornerback who was hurt all year this year.

Shawn Curtis is a 2* recruit we signed who I think is the next Cody Prewitt.

was he? I mean, I know Alabama and LSU were after him and he was a 4 star. but I think most just considered him to be the icing on the Cam Robinson cake.

I certainly don't think he was expected to be a contributor right away like Bama's top recruits are. If you ask most bama fans they don't have him penciled in as a starter for next season.

I wouldn't think the casual SEC fan really knows much about Cam Sims.
