What to Expect from Vanderbilt in 2017?

Vanderbilt returns 16 starters, 9 on offense and 7 on defense. They did lose their best player in linebacker Zach Cunningham. Derek Mason was out of his depth at first at Vandy but seemed to find his feet as a head coach in year 3 highlighted by wins vs Ole Miss, Tennessee, and @ UGA.

The schedule is tough with Bama from the West and tough mid majors in MTSU and WKU. I could see anywhere from a terrible year to contending for the East. Mason seemed pretty confident about his team today in Hoover. What do you expect from Vandy this year?

Their division games are all very winnable. Not a single one of them you look at and say "no way Vandy wins that one."

I wish Ralph Webb would get brought up more when talking about great SEC players. This season he has the opportunity to break Hershal All Time leading rusher mark

I could see them going 6-6 or 7-5 and possible finishing 4th in the east . They have a lot of winnable games but they also have slot of games they could lose. The bottom 4 teams in the east seem to be fairly even .

5-6 going into the Tennessee game again.
K-State is a tough one as is a trip to the Boro week 1.

He has less chance of doing it than Chubb does and neither really has much of a chance at all.

They get Ole Miss after the bearsharks take road trips to cal, Bama, and auburn in consecutive weeks. Even though it's a bowl game for the land fish, you have to like the way that one sets up for Vandy.
They get Bama the week before bama's super bowl with ole miss. You have to say psychological advantage Vandy.
They get UF the week before UF's grudge match with LSU.
UGA the week before the SJWs from Mizzou invade Athens.
I'm seeing 10 wins for Vandy this year.

Looking at that schedule.
None of those games in the non conference are give me wins except A&M.
None of them are give me wins in conference except maybe Miss State little brother.

I can see vandy going 8-4 or 9-3 coach mason has done a helluva job. Im afraid he wont be there to much longer once better programs come calling.
