What this LSU DC hire could mean for SEC and LSU

Before Chavis left, Miles still had at minimum 3 more seasons to do something special at LSU before LSU would think about firing the man.
Chavis leaving was odd. Did he jump because he already saw the writing on the wall for Les? Was it because he wanted a new challenge? Everyone had their own theory but no one was certain. For the most part, LSU fans felt like they could replace Chavis with equal or better talent.
Now comes the new hire - Kevin frikin Steele. This cements it - Les has lost the confidence of other coaches and/or his administration. Either good coaches see Les is on the way out and don't want to go down with him, or the LSU administration knows they are cutting ties with Les soon and refuse to pony up the $ required to get a top notch DC. Either way, Les is soon done at LSU unless he pulls a rabbit out of his arse in 2015, which no one should be too surprised if he does.
What this means for the rest of the SEC is that instead of facing Les for at least the 3 next years, LSU will likely be having a regime change and LSU is the type of program that can get a damn good HC and a damn good HC with LA talent will be a force in the SEC, as we've all seen.
The big question is though, will top HC's not want to work under the LSU admin that seemed to quickly lose faith in their most successful HC who took them to 2 NC's? If the LSU admin could undermine Les like this, they could do it again to anyone else.

If they hang onto Alleva, they won't make a good hire. No worries.

Their AD is a dumbass though so he'd probably screw the hire up

Alleva will go when Miles goes.

It means the rest of the SEC coaches are calling all the LSU recruits right now. Rats from a sinking ship.

A top program in a top recruiting bed in the top conference that has top financial resources does not hire Kevin Steele just because of some basic incompetence in the hiring process.
