1st and goal little over a minute left, Florida no timeouts. All he had to do was kneel 3 times. Here's what he does:

Kneel
Penalty for 12 men on the field
Run the ball
Run the ball
Run the ball up the middle on 4th and 5 instead of having Dobbs run around in the backfield for 5 seconds.

Good thing for Butch they were up by 10 because he was trying his hardest to botch the ending. It's shite like that why y'all have lost a lot of 4th quarter leads.

Wish Hurd had scored tbh, then you and the rest of the figs on this board could be bitching about us running up the score.

He was trying no to RUTS, he should have just punched it in.

He's a pretty awful gameday coach in his own right. He doesn't quite rival Les with time management, but it might a close second.

Good call. It's not like UT has improved after halftime in every game this season.

No, he started off kneeling it then changed his mind to run the ball and Tennessee got a penalty for too many men which wouldn't have happened if he just kneeled 3 times.

The fact that Tennessee has had to do so against that schedule is telling.

I agree, it should be easy to close that game out but Butch screwed up. Worst case scenario at that point would have been an injury because we had a 2 score lead. I'm not mad about it though because we got a huge win.

Based on the blown leads throughout college football this year, I'm glad we're a better 2nd half team. If we ever put 4 full quarters together, holy shite.

I was more amused with his goober behavior after the game. I get it's exciting but you're a grown arse man. The head coach. Tone it down, Dabo

I'm pretty certain it had something to do with there not being enough clock to run off completely. Hurd ran the ball on 4th down to the one and almost left one second (not like that would have mattered). Anyways, what difference does it make?

There wasn't enough time because the clock stopped on a substitution penalty...after a victory formation.

Right. I really don't see this as anything to talk about. I feel like they considered running the score up a bit, but decided not to and then had to make a play because of the penalty. Nothing negative happened and they won.

Yeah no shite, you would think he was a first year coach and they just won the national championship the way he acted. I get that the duck comment pissed off a lot of UT people, but if you're a coach and a grown man, it's a little petty to worry about what an opposing player says. All the UT players should have brought it up, but a coach should be above that. But then again, Butch puts hits on his own players so shouldn't be surprised.
