Is it their new HC (Brad something or the other) or is the result of the special snowflake incident?

It's Barry Odom and he changed their top 10 defense for no reason, which caused them to lose the one strength of the team. The sjw stuff didn't help and killed their recruiting

I'm not looking it up but I'm sure their recruiting is sucking right now.

They are something like 25% down in attendance and have been closing dorms the past year or so, along with many of their alumni pulling donations. Also GP was a huge loss.

recruiting in 2013-14 was key to this teams lack of depth.
I won't go into the horrible Asst hires, or changing a defense that finished top15, and was on the field, nearly 70% of games last year.
When Stinkel pulled out of Texas, it hurt the recruiting of their gems in the rough, they always found in texas. Instead, they brought in Georgia kids, who weren't very good, but were high 3 star kids.
They have gone back to their Texas ties, but that 2-3 year span hurt the team for future.
Also, hiring your friends(cross), end up biting u in the arse, and it has.
Also, Odom wants to be their buddies, and this team needed a ball buster. Especially after the bullshite from the protests. They have a few cancers in the locker room, and Odom is afraid to give them the boot, for fear of being labeled a racist, and blowback from HS coaches.
It's a mess, and not sure it will get cleared up anytime soon.
Plus, were Volleyball and Wrestling school

Do you think a sufficient beatdown this weekend could get him fired? We might oblige if the same offense that was in Auburn shows up in Columbia. Vandy has a good record of helping schools can their shitty coaches.
ETA: No shite, I know he's not getting ousted after only one year.

We just had a record calendar year for donations. The dorms that closed were scheduled to be closed because they were replaced with new ones. Enrollment was down a bit, but on the heels of likely unsustainable growth.
The team sucks. It's pretty simple.

Mizzou is favored in this game...somehow.
Of course, we were also favored against Kentucky...

As an outside observer the first things that come to mind are Michael Sam, protests, and police shootings. Not saying it is wrong or right but I'm assuming most of these kids just want to play football and go to a few parties while hopefully getting a free degree. That is not representative of Mizzou but that is all the Media seems to cover, they need some PR help.

Although nobody will admit it On here The move to the Sec kind of set things back I believe, sure they are making more money on paper and doing a little better in average attendance. I was there for the Nebraska win in 2003, and the Kansas win in 07 with both teams ranked top 5 and reecing eating turf through his facemask Last play of the game and I miss that intensity in the program and I think a lot of fans do too. Sure the sec is a great football conference with great places to play but games like those two and others won't happen again for a long long time or maybe ever. Kinda sad really.

What happened was the entire fricking University melted down from the President all the way to the students.
What a shite show

They ran into a bentrain coming down the tracks. It could have been anyone.

Pretty good summary. Notice there isn't much about the protests in it. Now does Odom have the balls to fix it quickly? and can we find some high quality assistants?

Pinkel left the cupboard empty. Pulling out of texass hurt recruiting.
Rookie head coach:
Mizzou was in a very weakened position while hiring a HC last year. We had to go internal. We had to go with no HC experience. And it shows. The rebuild is not going to be quick, it will be long term. The is totally on the protest, the Governor, the BoC, past President, past Chancellor, past AD and past head coach. Failed leadership was rampant and we all see the results. Losers.

Wasn't he an interim coach they made HC? Or what's his story?

No. No one else was interested in the Mizzou job because of the SJW issues.

It turns out that "we've got gay dudes on the team" or "we care about social issues more than football" aren't winning recruiting strategies.

The move to the SEC has not hurt the program. We had, arguably, our best team ever in 2013 as a member of the SEC and followed that season with 11 wins and a top 15 finish.
Non elite programs have ebbs and flows. It's just the way CFB is. The same group of teams win literally every year and it's nearly impossible for any other team to break into that.
We are down now. We'll be back at some point. Then we'll be down, then up. Repeat until the end of time.

This happened
Tim Wolfe happened. Not the best recruiting pitch for young African Americans to come to Mizzou.
