With Kansas City, Missouri, being the best BBQ in an SEC area, obviously.

Memphis, I'm guessing? Or maybe South Carolina?

If we expand to one of the NC schools, they take top spot.

Texas has great brisket. Brisket is not BBQ. Bbq is harvested from a pig, not a cow

Memphis already owns this category. KC might be top 5 though.

Beef isn't BBQ.

Beef can be barbecued. Chicken can be barbecued. Pork is barbecue.

You aren't doing it right. But Texas does do it wrong, when they ignore other meats. Which is the strength of KC BBQ - we BBQ all the meats, and do it the best

interesting that a Tennessean doesn't support Memphis BBQ. I think it speaks profoundly, though, to the proper place of Memphis BBQ in the BBQ hierarchy. Which is something other than the best.

I once ordered BBQ in Columbia, SC and it came out with mustard all over it. I tried to scrape it off, but wound up throwing about half of it in the garbage.

Memphis gets my vote.
