Alabama: I actually believe Alabama could go 0-12 this season and Saban would survive. Therefore, inapplicable.

Arkansas: 5-7

Auburn: Auburn has already shown they'll tolerate 7-6. 5-7 may get Gus the ax.

Florida: 7-6

Georgia: 2-10

Kentucky: 4-8

LSU: a sixth consecutive loss to Alabama and less than eight wins. Pardon me if I have that figure incorrect, it's been so long since LSU has beaten Bama.

Missouri: 1.5 Team boycotts

Mississippi State: losing to Ole Miss

Ole Miss: NCAA-imposed two-year bowl ban

South Carolina: 4-8

Tennessee: 7-6

Texas A&M: tAggyArk is content with mediocrity. 5-7 with no bowl gets Sumlin canned, while 6-7 with a bowl loss or 5-8 with a bowl loss would keep his job

Vanderbilt: 3-9

We fired Mike Sherman with 7 wins, a year after 9 wins...via cell in a recruits driveway.

We fired Franchione with 7 wins, a year after 9 wins as well.

Sumlin's agent negotiated a hell of a buyout when all our higher ups were partying with JFF.

Coach O will have to go 3-9 for LSU to immediately consider paying another buyout.

TA, what is your area of expertise legally? By any chance real estate law?

Legal questions aside, yeah, I can't argue too much. We have Bert for another year but if he does not produce wins this year then his seat goes to molten lava status.

I'd rather not discuss my personal life on tRant for obvious reasons.

Oh and Bert is fat.

At this point Gus's record isn't nearly as important as beating Georgia and being competitive against Bama

7-5 probably gets Sumlin fired. 6-6 no question

At this stage, I'm beginning to think Sumlin could pull an Aaron Hernandez and still have a job.

I suspect that this is the only reason why you started this thread.

You are just mad because he is big boned... and for some odd reason owns beaver teeth. I can't explain it either.

We can't beat y'all in anything the past few years.

Seriously, WTF?

And to answer your question, I have limited real estate experience.

You do. It'll be 7 after this year.

tAggyArk is the A&M forum on the rant and we are NOT content with mediocrity.

The thing about Sumlin is that, barring a championship season of 12 or more wins, which he is not capable of, he's likely going to be fired this year. The trends are already in place.

Every A&M coach in my lifetime has never been fired in a year which he had the worst record of his tenure.

Jackie Sherrill was forced to resign in a year in which the A&M administration didn't have the balls nor the backing to take on the t.u.-led Texas media and NCAA Infractions Committee, especially in light of the SMU Death Penalty.

R.C. Slocum was fired in a season that saw his Athletic Director being told to resign by the new A&M President Robert Gates, a season that fell well below expectations, and a season in which one of his players died on the practice field.

Dennis Franchione was fired in a season in which his "VIP Newsletter" was made public, not after a 5-6 season 2 years earlier that should have gotten him fired.

Mike Sherman was fired in a perfect storm year. He openly criticized the move to the SEC, his team blew 5 2+ score 2nd half leads in losses and he lost the final game to t.u.

Another factor as well: The last four A&M coaches all received guaranteed contracts at some point in their tenure (including Sumlin). Not one made it past year 4 of that contract.

R.C. Slocum: 7-year guaranteed deal after the 1998 season. Fired in 2002.

Dennis Franchione: 6-year guaranteed deal after the 2004 season. Fired in 2007.

Mike Sherman: 7-year guaranteed contract from the start in 2008. Fired in 2011.

Kevin Sumlin: 6-year guaranteed deal after the 2013 season. Currently in year 4 of that contract.
