Auburn, though there is still a chance I might go there for grad school.

UGA or Vandy. Maybe Arkansas. However, if I had the chance to go to college again, I'd go to the west coast.

A shorter list would be what SEC school do you not see yourself.

That would make my list much bigger, and it seems like everyone else's too

Vandy. Solid academics, solid Greek scene, can fall back on growing up in Lexington for sports.

Just my two cents, and unrelated to this thread, but Cincinatti is just as close and is pretty damn fun. Just stay in the actual city, not the burbs or northern Kentucky.

This. My other choice was LSU, but I honestly think I would have had a great time at any SEC school. I guess my bottom 2 would be State or Kentucky?

Went to AU for Architecture.
Miss St and Tenn were the other options.
UT was too far from home, and Miss St was getting bigtime into computer aided drafting which scared the crap out of me in 85. Idiot.

Are these two related in your mind or are they for independent reasons?

If you couldn't have a great time at the majority of SEC schools you are a lost cause.

Completely independent.
Just feel like I would prefer Ole Miss out of the two Mississippi schools, and don't know enough about Kentucky to justify going that far from home. Not really anything against either school.

That wasn't the question.

Okay if you couldn't fit in or find a fit at the majority of SEC schools you are a lost cause. I am just saying they are mostly the same except Vandy.

I would enjoy the following...
UGA (obvious)
Florida - I grew up in Texas and I feel like the student body would be similar to growing up here. Transplants, mixed diversity and backgrounds. I would get along with the student body really well. I was Greek at 'Bama but I have always thought that the Machine politics there held back the campus on a few terms. that deserves a thread all of its own.
Arkansas - I have heard good things about the town and I would enjoy being a perpetual underdog in every sport except track and field.
Tennessee - access to the outdoors would be fun. Kayaking, hiking etc.
USC - Columbia seems like a good town.
Vandy - Even though I think Nashville is way overrated, Vandy is a good school and I have more than a few friends here in Houston that went there. they are all fun as hell, they put the other smart kid college graduates in Houston to shame(Rice grads mostly).
I would not enjoy...
Texas ATM - I just don't get it. You can get away with being a "bad catholic"; you cannot get away with being a "bad aggie". I would be a "bad aggie".
Auburn - met enough of yall to know that your one goal in life is to bash anything 'Bama. It's the worse I have ever experienced. Texas v ATM is generally pretty cordial. But Auburn people, by and large, will not give 'Bama any credit deserved. Especially in the Academic side of things when its obvious that while Auburn has a good Engineering program(not the best in a 100 mile radius - Ga Tech) but 'Bama has better overall academic programs available. Auburn fans will use stupid stats like graduating income to measure the whole university, while completely ignoring the fact that 'Bama pretty much puts out all of the states Teachers and other low income entry level positions. people that are working there because of the work, not the pay. It is like talking to Democrats with facts.
LSU - absolutely love Tiger Stadium on Saturday. the people are pretty fun and the food is great. I also understand that there is a distinct culture in the area. adds to the flavor. But I don't think I would enjoy living in Baton Rouge.
Ole Miss - Ole Miss and Bama are very similar. But Bama is a better school, in a bigger campus, town has more to do. I was there in 2014 for the first time and I was actually blown away by how small it was. I need more activity. I will admit that the party scene is Oxford is better organized compared to Tuscaloosa.
Kentucky - just too far away and I am not crazy about Basketball.
all of the others I do not know enough about.

Never said I couldn't. This thread is about schools that would have been a "fit for you", not " where could I have a good time"...

Probably A&M, have multiple family members that are grads

Yeah. I don't think I would be a good fit at Auburn, Ole Miss, MSU, Florida, LSU, TA&M, SC, UT or Mizzou. Add Kentucky to my "maybe" list with Arkansas.
