We're getting steamrolled in every game on defense.. Even the games we've won in SC/UGA, the D's aren't looking too sharp (outside of King Clowney).

Why? Is it just bad execution or are our defenses really overplayed?

Our main runstopper was suspended.

Then again we didn't have a ton of run stoppage to begin with.

And don't drag us in with LSU and UF.

We won...

Our defense was bad against the run all year.

I know it may be hard to believe but teams like Clemson and Nebraska actually have pretty good offenses.

I was just thinking the same thing. Getting exposed big time by some good qb's. There aren't many of those in the SEC these days.

Also, most SEC offenses are pedestrian compared to these others. Talent is no longer enough to overcome a well executed and coached offense.

The #3 and #8 teams' QBs were Mett and Driskel.

Also, say what you want, but these teams are showing up to play in the underdog role. Other conferences now don't get overwhelmed by the speed and size. They expect it and just execute.

This is Louisville's biggest game in their history maybe? They just have more to play for.

Coaches are using the extra prep time to gameplan and find the weaknesses

In general, the offenses in the SEC aren't as good as those in the Big 12 or PAC 12. The defenses are definitely better and that typically shows in the bowl games. Not so much this year.

Absolutely cannot believe Florida is getting their arse handed to them by Louisville. That's a bigger head scratcher than LSU losing to Clemson or State losing to Northwestern.

Team Avr. Bowl
Vandy 18.3 24
LSU 16.9 25
MSU 22 34
UGA 18.8 31
SC 17.4 28
UF 12.9 33 so far

I know some of those bowl game points are defensive but not much. By the way LOuisville just punted for the first time 5 minutes left in the 4th.

Is a BCS win and chance to be in the top 2 in the final polls not enough to play for. None of these boys on UF's team has a BCS win....unless they redshirted.

No it wasn't...I was pulling for the Grinders but Northwestern is a quality team.

This. And also SEC officials are usually much more favorable towards defense than other conferences. For example, the Big 12 is notorious for rarely calling offensive holding penalties which is why Big 12 games always feature a ton of scoring from both teams.
