Since 2008 I guess because that's when they really became popular. Has the SEC lost one?

Bama is 6-0 in Dome openers since Saban got here.

Well have they played a neutral site opener in an outdoor stadium since 08?

State lost to Okie St a couple of years ago

lololol we also have opened up on opponent's home fields, unlike pretty much every other SEC school. Opening game neutral site games aren't really our thing...'16 will be the 2nd we've ever had. Also we were ranked 22nd and lost to a team ranked 6th so I'm not sure what is so lol-worthy about that.

You don't see what's funny about losing to Boise State?
LSU's opened up on the road, too. So congrats I guess.

Didn't LSU lose to Notre Dame?

Vols 2-0 in neutral site games :)

It wasn't the season opener, but Bama lost in Jacksonville to FSU in 2007.

Yeah in a bowl game. I'd say the opening game is a little more important. Start a response thread about bowls if you want.

An opening game is more important??
UGA lost to a higher ranked team, at a neutral site, in the first game of the season and that's funny...
LSU, might mighty LSU, lost to Notre fricking Dame, at a neutral site, in a bowl game. A bowl game. At the end of the season. Ya know? When a team is supposed to be at their best and has had an entire season to improve.

Auburn lost to Clemson in the opening game in the Georgia game, but it was Chizik's last year in 2012. It was the first clue of the disaster that season would become for Auburn.

Agreed and Boise State was damned good that year.

Since 2008:
2011 vs ECU in Charlotte. Won 56-37. Actually played pretty poorly for most of the game. Shaw's first start, played terrible. Garcia actually came in and saved us.
2015 vs UNC in Charlotte. Last Thursday.
Also opened 2009 @ NC State where we beat a Russell Wilson led Wolfpack 7-3.
Wasn't that game in the GA Dome? That's no more neutral than A&M in Houston last night.
