I think most have answered your question. I'll recap.

Favorable home schedule
Good RBs
Johnson bringing a good passing game
Boom improving the defense

You know this concept works two ways right? Auburn was also a fluke fumble away from being 5-3 in conference.

Yeah, I think lack of depth in several key positions is the weakness of our team. I believe our starters are as good as any team in the country. Our recruiting has been very good, but not elite, so we can't afford injuries in several areas.

Last year, we may have made a run at the playoffs with Lawson and Kozan. They were our best defensive and offensive linemen respectively.

Key to our season will likely be avoiding injury at key spots.

Is it the new defensive coordinator? Is it the new offensive style that is expected? Not even trying to flame just trying to understand. Auburn was a goal line fluke leg break from going 3-5 in conference last year.
1) QB Johnson is gonna make folks forget about Cam...will end up the SEC goat (how many big games has he QBed?
2) Even though their defense was absolutely terrible last year, Muschamp will, in 1 year, turn them into one of the best in the country.
3) They were terrific in their spring game, beating the hell out of...themselves.
4) Finally...it's the off season and hope springs eternal.

I expect auburn to improve. To be a contender to win the SEC and be in the playoff mix, the defense will have to VASTLY improve, and it seems like a lot of people are just assuming that will happen because of Muschamp.

Your first three factors alone should be the difference in some wins - whether it's a solid season or a championship run is on how much any defensive coordinator can transform a defense in one offseason.

Getting players that can generate a pass rush is what's most important on the defensive side of the ball. We should be drastically better in doing that.

I think the return of Carl Lawson will have just as much of an effect on our defense as Boom

Is Austin Golson really going to be your starting center? I thought you had a least one in front of him there. He left OM to be a left tackle.

Yeah...we said we didn't know why he picked us because we're set at tackle for the future...I didn't think he'd see the field for us but he will make a pretty good center

He left Ole Miss because he was rehabbing a shoulder injury and decided to spend that time closer to home to be near his grandparents. He talks about it all the time

He got paid!!! Cheaters!!!

(Sorry, I felt I had to do something to offset my previous post which attempted to be objective and balanced toward our bitter rivals...and that is unacceptable behavior on the rant. )

Do people really believe Jeremy Johnson will be a 1st round pick? how is he any better than Brett Hundley?

1)Is the exaggeration due to fear of the truth? How many big games has he QB'd? More than Coker.
2)Again is the exaggeration due to fear of the truth? We won a natty giving up 24ppg, last year we gave up 26ppg.You can do the math. Maybe you can't, that's a 2ppg improvement on D that we need to get into the natty conversation based on what's happened in the past.
3)Who did Bama play in their spring game? Let me know if you can't figure it out.
4)We've proven that improving from 0 SEC wins to 8 SEC wins can be done in one year, based on that alone we will always have hope. War Eagle!
