This is such a trite argument against Muschamp. He was handicapped with that offense. When your offense is consistently shitting the bed, of course the defense is going to wear out and give up some points.

And that he's interchanging "ceiling" and "comparison" as if they're the same word.

Exactly, he's another dumb arse that feels he can evaluate talent based on high school accomplishments only and claim it as an absolute, yet everyone else is living on assumptions.

not at all. im just giving an opinion on a player. something that happens all the time among sportsfans. i even asked anyone to tell me why he's better and i'll change my mind. but you cant articulate an argument as to why you so strongly belief that is a bad comparison. the only argument ive seen from the auburn collective is that JJ had 75% completion percentage in his garbage time last year, while Hundley threw for 60whatever.

dont get mad and flame. just talk football and explain why he's a better quarterback. i know you can do it.

let me help you out. Last year a 6'-1" cornerback and a average SEC RB put up 630 yards on your hotshot defense and you faced one of the worst defenses in the SEC.

Truly looking forward to the upcoming season

does that help any? You like to look at one game against Florida. Try looking at his record as a DC.

"Muschamp, who has coached top-10 defenses in 10 of 12 seasons"

no. what i'm saying is comparing his completion percentage as a backup vs that of a full time starter is not very meaningful.

He shredded the pigs for 243 yards in the first half without breaking a sweat last year. By the way, two TDs and no interceptions

Who's mad? I just responded to a post directed at me. I was merely offering my opinion of you based on your posts. I am amused by your logic. No need to discuss assumptions in such a serious manner. You feel you have the kid pegged and everyone else is assuming. How does one have a discussion when that person feels his opinion isn't flawed?

Feel free to hack it out with the others who have chosen to engage with you. I will go on my way with my assumptions intact.

good for him, we've never had a problem against his defenses at Texas and Florida.

Congrats putting up yards on our defense. Auburn still got beat down.

Thanks for the responses, I managed to read through the entire thread after work and I have come to one overwhelming answer

Nobody has a clue how good Auburn will be and the national pundits expecting them to be top 5 are guessing.

Thanks again

That's all pundits do every year. Did you think it was some new secret thing they were doing?

How is that different from any other team in any other year?

Just curious if I had missed some sure fire reason why they will win the west, turns out I didn't miss anything. Thanks for the contribution though, I've got my answers. Good luck next season

i dont feel that way at all. if my mind was all made up on the issue, i wouldnt even bother discussing it. i hoped i could get some differing opinions.

To me, Auburn is kind of a superior version of A&M: Really good offense, and only needs a serviceable defense to win. I think Jeremy Johnson is the real deal, and I won't be surprised if they win the SEC next year.
