What Is It With Bama Fans And McElwain?

Ever since UF hired McElwain the Bama fans on here have been going out of their way to run interference for the guy. While everyone else wants to joke about how UF didn't get a splash hire, we see Bama fans talking about how impressive his record at Colorado St (yes fricking Colorado St!) was. And they COMPLETELY ignore the frickup that was the hire and the MASSIVE buyout, in fact they more than UF fans will say he will be worth the money.

I don't see them defend Saban like this! Or ANYONE outside of the Bear! What is the deal with Bama fans and McElwain?

Thank you in advance.

We respect the guy and what he did as our OC. What's wrong with that?

I don't see the problem with the hire or the buyout. If you believe in the guy you pay what you have to to get him.

Two NCs as OC will earn you a lot of respect from the fanbase that benefitted.

Why should we shite all over a coach that left Bama for another job only to return to the conference a couple of years later?

We like him. He's a good man and his daughter is a smoke show with a heart of gold.

Urban Meyer had a good record at Utah. Sumlin had a good record at Houston. You think coaches just started at a major university?

Why doesn't Doug get the love? Is it all about getting Mr. Tattoo to titleland?

They are like a cult and are just defending a former cult member. This shouldn't be that hard for you to understand.

In short the AD telegraphed like crazy that he was going to hire McElwain which made him lose all his leverage when he was faced with the largest buyout in college football history.

Steele was a Bama DC and they don't play defense for him in Chavis threads. I get two titles and all but still.

He was a big part of Bama winning championships and we appreciate what he did while at Bama.
