Wouldn't it be wiser to keep Eason and redshirt Fields? You all will end up with the same situation Bama is in if you don't redshirt Fields.

That'd be better but I don't think Eason will stick around for that scenario. He will probably transfer back to the west coast where we can be the guy after he sits for a year. Only way that doesn't happen is if Fromm gets hurt later this year and Eason is able to reclaim the starting job.

Is he a walk on?

Yeah. He had some D1 offers, but I don't think he's a realistic game option for UGA.

I think you try and talk Eason into staying, possibly starting next year or getting decent playing, and then being a graduate transfer if he wants where he doesn't have to sit out an entire year.

Or if Fromm gets hurt, and he plays well, he could very easily be a first round pick.

Redshirting Fields shouldn't be a huge issue based on what he's said. Plus plenty of talented QBs have redshirted over the last 10 years.

Fields takes the shirt of red
Eason stays and competes
Fromm stays and competes

Fromm starts .. if dawgs struggle Eason comes in ... or injury etc.

Kirby is showing that he is pretty amazing at keeping talent in the school and believing in the system thus far.

honestly, Clemson has exact same situation

Kelly Bryant another year of eligibility left
Hunter Johnson freshman 5 Star on the bench
Trevor Lawrence #1/2 recruit in the country coming next year

I don't think Hurts will be leaving early to go pro. His skillset doesn't match that type of decision.

I'd tend toward agreeing with you myself. I still can't see Tua sitting 2 more years though....which means he either transfers or Hurts sits/transfers.

I can't either. It's going to be an interesting offseason for sure.
