I don't think it was that great at LSU or that he has been particularly effective against the Tide at A&M. Where does all the hype for him come from?

Not sure why people think he is so great. He did decent for 2 years for us but once his lackadaisical recruiting caught up with him we started going downhill. And then he left.

He had an incredible offense in 2013. His defense was terrible.

Aren't all the upperclassmen on your defense now his players?

His record is 2-6, with wins in 2010 and 2011 (first time).

Yeah followed by a plethora of true freshman and sophmores. Linebackers were his specialty and that is where we are thinnest.

He's 12-14-1 all time at Tennessee, LSU, and A&M

10-8-1 at UT from 1989-2008
2-5 at LSU from 2009-2014
0-1 at A&M in 2015

That would imply that he recruited them. He was on staff when they signed..that's about it.

The great Chavis sat Beckwith over Welter. Enough said...

Tell yourself whatever makes you feel better man. I'm only giving you my personal experience with having him as a DC. From start to finish if I had to give him a grade for his overall job here he gets a B- and it's only this high because of that 2011 defense.

He was UT's DC from '95-'08. During that stretch he was 10-2 (not counting the vacated game from '05, which was a 9-6 loss).

He was 2-5 at LSU and is 0-1 at aTm.

So, overall as a DC, he is offically 12-8 vs Bama.

Chavis is 12-8 as a DC vs Bama.
Chavis is 3-9 vs Saban coached teams.
Chavis is 0-1 vs Bama as DC at A&M.

He was only DC at Tennessee from '95-'08. Don't know that you can make him responsible for losses where he wasn't calling the shots. As UT's DC he was 10-2 vs Bama (10-3 if you include the vacated game in '05).
