What happened to Auburn football after 1989?

I agree, but if others play by those rules then we should too.

I get that to an extent. I just think others shouldn't play by those rules and if I feel that way about them, then I'm not going to play by it.

Auburn's actually pretty good about only claiming 2 fwiw.

Well I will take the actual data that Auburn provides themselves showing that only 10 or 12 percent of their students come from the state of Georgia over your claims.

Like I said, a "vocal minority" makes it appear that all Auburn students are UGA rejects.

quote:

I also read read two or three years ago that 40 percent of their current students were legacies. That seems to leave little room for mutt rejects except in the delusional minds of mutt internet posters

If by little room, you mean a majority (60%) of the student population then ok. And that's not even acknowledging the fact that legacy doesn't = Auburn/UGA by birth.

And factor in out of state tuition and that is a "no-go" for many of those UGA "rejects"...at least according to their hard working parents. Triple tuition per year is simply not an option.

You do realize that a premise of the joke is that all Auburn students must come from GA, right? That Auburn is akin to a second tier GA university? That Auburn students have more or less been run out of their home state for being dumb? shite, are you guys so bent up about this joke (which has existed for decades, mind you) that I'm having to explain the nuances of it? Should I just turn the cannon at Ole Miss and spare you this apparent disruption in your lives?

The information Stanford sends out does not compare themselves to only Auburn and Georgia. It compares the average salary of their graduates to the graduates of numerous other colleges with major football programs

I am about to piss some people off but since I'm a UGA alum, it's my prerogative to do so.

I blame Vince Dooley for Georgia's lack of success after 1982. Dooley was never a good coach--he owed all of his meager success to Erk Russell and Herschel Walker.

After Dooley resigned as head coach following the 1988 season, as AD, he hired consecutive incompetent head coaches because he knew that they would never threaten the Dooly legacy.

some of our fanbase know real live people who are forever in the bitter barn because they were rejected from UGA and had to settle for Auburn.

My best friend was an Auburn attendee who was a UGA reject. He is bitter as hell to this very day.

I somewhat, partially agree

quote:

If you think he intentionally hired people for the sole purpose that they wouldn't be better than him, you're an even bigger idiot than I already though. And seeing as how you think Hutson Mason is better than Aaron Murray, that's quite a feat to accomplish.

Nobody is bent up abou it. I find it comical that Georgia tards like you continually bring up something that isn't even true to cover up your own failings. This includes being the 2nd best academic institution in your own state at the very best
