Georgia is the Wake Forest of the SEC. I love Mark Richt.

when did uga fans become such girly girls? must have been when Fairly tackled their QB because before that it was a man's rivalry. After that if became a demo whiner "its not fair!" line from them continuously. Give them a participation trophy

He's 9-5 against AU, and a lot of those have been blowouts.

You love Mark Richt? If there were a coach that was 9-5 vs. my team I wouldn't love him. Particularly if 6 of those losses were blowouts. Is this Stockholm syndrome?

Will your tenth loss to Richt this fall (the 5th one on the campus of the backup school) increase the Stockholm phenomenon or decrease it? If it's another four possession plus drubbing will that matter?

Ah, some coaches and teams just have other team's number from time to time. Y'all should know. Spurrier went 11-1 against the dawgs during his tenure at Florida. I'm sure there were some pretty good domination games for the Gators along the way as well.

SEC Titles since 1985 (last 30 years)
Florida - 8 (0 shared)
Alabama - 6 (1 shared)
Auburn - 6 (2 shared)
LSU - 6 (2 shared)
Tennessee - 5 (1 shared)
Georgia - 2 (0 shared)

SEC Titles since 1995 (last 20 years)
Florida - 5
Alabama - 4
LSU - 4
Auburn - 3
Tennessee - 2
Georgia - 2

SEC Titles since 2005
Alabama - 3
LSU - 2
Florida - 2
Auburn - 2
Georgia - 1

Tennessee is certainly in the most recent history trouble. But Georgia is close behind with only 2 in the last 30 years and one more year left to stay on the 10 year list.

Longest SEC title droughts for every big six team All time since they won their first title
Auburn - 26 years
LSU - 22 years (16 in modern era)
Georgia - 20 years
Tennessee - 16 years (X2 - one current)
Alabama - 9 years
Florida - 6 years (3 times - one current)

Tennessee needs to win an SEC title in the next 4 seasons or they will be getting up there in non title streaks in modern history.

I think Butch gets it done though.

Nice post. It will be interesting to watch for sure. With UGA's "new commitment", Tennessee's resurgance (if things go well), Spurrier's retirement, and whatever Florida decides to do, in addition to Missouri continuing to being solid...the East should be fun to watch for the next few years.

How convenient that your arbitrary date starts, my gosh, the year Auburn began winning.
I love how the Aubs do that shite ~ it's an inferiority complex of some kind.

I love Mark Richt because he never wins anything and then we get the comedy of listening to mutts explain why he doesn't win anything.

It wasn't arbitrary at all. I picked the date because that was the last time that UGA played for a National Championship. Those guys were killing it for a long time until then. They had just won a National Title in 1980 and won the SEC three straight times until their final loss in the NC in 1982 against Penn State. They then proceeded to go 19 years without squat, won another sec championship 2 years later and went another 10 years to present on another dry spell. It was a fair date to pick IMO. We've had some bad ones too, but I chose the PRESENT date and went backwards. I didn't just pick some random year.

So if there were a "Big 5" instead, would Tennessee or UGA get the boot?

Georgia Tech would just fill one of their spots for the time being...interim and all.

After Herschel Walker left, Georgia went back to being Georgia.

This thread fairly reeks of auburn insecurity.

Thanks.

Let's keep it going! ------> 34-7.

It's not that he doesn't win, in fact he wins a ton. The comedy is the 1-2 games he loses every year that completely take UGA out of the race for anything significant, and they are stuck with trying to justify their "success" despite the lack of hardware. Richt has a great record against rivals, but seemingly cannot put all those wins together in the same season. And that "4 yards from a MNC" bullshite gets real annoying to hear day in and day out.
