Sorry, I just threw up at the thought.

What is the typical alignment Auburn fans will see see when we give up long TD drives, get hashed up the middle and have passes thrown over our DB heads?

I didn't like Steele at all, but one thing he did this year was adapt his scheme to fit LSU's personnel.

That said, expect at least 3 busted coverages every game.

That's like 2 less than our average!

Could any scheme be worse than what we've seen the past 5-6 years?
Gus needs to get his shite together on offense before we start worrying about the defense.

Exactly. AU will never have a great defense under Malzahn. For AU to win big they have to have such an elite offense that the defense is irrelevant as long as it is somewhat functional.

Malzahn's offense is only an issue with the defense when he's going 3-out or turning the ball over repeatedly (which sadly was the case in 2015).

He will attack the offense. His schemes are complicated and that's the problem. He is a phenomenal recruiter and will improve the talent on your defense.

It is not so much what he added to LSU, but more so what he left out, some of his blitz packages are very good, but we never saw them. Often we would get beat gambling on a certain package but it would leave on CB on a island or would take our MLB out of the flow of the play. So I feel the scheme is successful but hi splay calling was pretty lacking. Never did I say "wow we really read that play right".
The guy can recruit. The players seem to like him, but I didnt see any well wisher texts like Aranda got last night.
The reality of this situation is this imo: Steele knows Gus may get canned, but Steele's brother works for Auburn, so after Gus leaves Steele will move to admin in what I feel in a retirement move.

That said: if Auburn could have landed Aranda but settled for Steele, that is bad. If my theory is right it is a retirement move regardless of Gus tenure.

Other theory is Steele left to not get fired.

He didn't do that bad. Secondary issues, but overall did better at LSU than I thought he would.

This hire is the last straw for the AD also. Auburn fans are not going to allow Jay Jacobs to pick the next HC. So all the administration should be on thin ice too.

Les Snead for AD.

If all it took was lack of fan support to fire Jacobs he'd have been gone a long time ago. Unfortunately he's in that job until he decides to retire.

Dude. You're were insufferable to begin with. Now you're taking it to a Tiger Rant and BOL level. Time to turn the Internet off in the trailer park and get to that job at WalMart.

Thanks.

The kind of scheme that gives up almost 300 yards passing to Treon Harris

Think about Chavis's defenses, now imagine the opposite. That's Kevin Steele

yeah he really proved his naysayers wrong this year. we went slow as frick 99% of the time and could still 3 and out off the field faster than anyone.
