What does the CBS do about its prime time game this year?

I can't see them doing LSU/Bama when LSU will have at least 3 losses going into that game. Does CBS wait until the week after and put Bama/State or UF/USCe on at 2:30 and Auburn/Georgia on at prime time? I think this is the best option and probably the future of the prime time CBS game going forward.

I'm hoping to God they don't put that shitshow on primetime. It's going to be a 45-3 kind of game

It’s locked into that weekend

It's locked into that weekend. Which is a damn shame. I hope this season forces espn and cbs to make some changes to this in the future. Because it should be flexible.

How and why would they do that? At some point they had to know that one of the programs would fall off. Why lock that in?

They need to give that slot to teams not named Bama, Auburn or Georgia.
Rest of the league have played each other reasonably close

Is Bama/LSU locked in or just the weekend of their prime time game? If Auburn Georgia play that weekend they will draw the night game.
I have to imagine Bama’s Tv ratings aren’t so swell right now. They beat the shite out of everybody

UGA/AU is the next weekend

It's locked in, but if there is a major concern (ie, LSU being winless in conference play) they could make some deals and get out of it. They've done this in the past.

Auburn vs Georgia or Florida vs Georgia.
The cocktail party deserves a damn night game once in awhile.

The last time I remember this was in 2011 when CBS agreed to give ESPN a big time SEC game in 2012 (ESPN picked UGA/USCe) for the rights to move LSU/Alabama to 8pm. This would basically be that in reverse

Pretty sure that'll never happen again after the 2002 shenanigans

That was CBS picking up an extra primetime game (I'm guessing their first primetime game was LSU/Florida?). In my mind simply changing the date of their primetime double header would be an easier deal to make.

It's locked in. CBS fricked up they should have seen this coming. I guess they could pick another game that weekend but there isn't too much to pick from

Are you sure? They have made changes before. Their might be a clause to change it if they give up something to ESPN.

The UGA-AU could be considered a first round game of the playoff. With the winner essentially playing Bama in the quarterfinals (IB or SECCG).

The weekend is locked in, but not necessarily LSU/Alabama. They could pick Auburn/aTm if they really wanted to.
Auburn could be 7-1 and aTm 6-2. It would be a better game.
However, they'd probably still pick LSU/Alabama just because people tune in to watch Alabama no matter what shite team they're playing.
