He's proven he is a decent coach. So why is he at Mizzou? Normally the best coaches at that program bolt for better neighboring states at the first opportunity (southward). Has his history of being under the influence prevented this leap to a better job?

No sure why. It's not like he gets preferential treatment from the local authorities.

well depends on what "authorities" you mean i guess..

3 years ago he won 2 games and 3 the year before, so a couple of good years later he's ready for what? tOSU? Gump U? Athens?

tell me which blublood program wants Pinkel that bad, I'd like to hear this.

The last time Missouri had a good coach that "bolted" for another job was Dan Devine in 1970.

Is there any room for a serious answer to this obvious fish hook?

'Pinky' has built a program around him that has taken years to establish. He ended decades of garbage. He could no doubt find another job, likely paying better. But why risk going somewhere with a troubled program (Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida) where expectations are high, and run the risk of not being given time to turn it around? He will have a statue at Mizzou if he finishes his career there.

pinky is a cute nickname (as long as it's not referring to penis size).
