What do you think of SEC men's basketball coaches overall?

We've got some damn decent coaches in this league.
I'm bias, but I have always liked Frank Martin as a basketball coach. He's tough, he recruits to his system, but most importantly he is a good coach - he gets the most out of his players and he develops them.
Avery Johnson at Bama is dangerous ... I really believe that two or three years from now he is going to have Bama at, or near, the top of the league.
Mike White at Florida is an interesting guy. Seems to be very soft spoken. Has a good reputation as having a basketball mind. Is well versed on recruiting the AAU ball players. (never personally been a fan of the AAU system but if you can recruit it you can sign big time talent)
Calipari at Kentucky ... he's the big dog in the SEC men's basketball coaching ranks.
LSU Johnny Jones ... I noticed something last night. Down the stretch he seemed to quit coaching. Crazy thing was, and I was watching him from where I was sitting not far away, but LSU had a player foul out and it took him forever to decide who to send in to replace the guy ... I think I even saw him asking one of his assistants who it should be. That struck me as odd - perhaps it was his body language or the look on his face or something - but I knew right then we were going to win the game. I dunno. He just seemed a little - for lack of a better word - confused, or detached maybe? I dunno.
Mark Fox at Georgia ... I think if they remain patient with him he's going to get it going at Georgia. I'm not really sure what happened this year, they've been inconsistent I guess but they sure beat us over there - and you can tell he is a good strategy coach. I dunno, he's been there five or six years at least now but he's right on the verge of making them competitive every year I think.
Rick Barnes at Tennessee ... I've always been impressed with him since his days at Clemson. He's one of the best Xs and Os coaches in the country, he can recruit and he is excellent in-game. He's actually brilliant at times. Vols hit a homerun with that guy.
Andy Kennedy seems settled-in at Ole Miss. He'll probably retire there.
Billy Kennedy ... had it going-on for awhile. He is really going to be tested getting this team's confidence back right now - seeing if he can make a run in March in the conference tourney and how this season ends for him will say a lot about his ability.
Mizzou head coach ... no comment, will leave that to the Mizzou fans.
Ben Howland ... too early to tell.
Kevin Stallings is an interesting question. He had a nice run for awhile there and his team was supposed to be loaded this year to help get him back near the top ... but injuries, etc., have plagued him. He's not in trouble at Vandy I wouldn't think, and the guy can obviously coach ... but I'm beginning to wonder if it will be time for a change at Vandy within the next couple of years.
Bruce Pearl ... he'll have Auburn very competitive within two more years.
So several people have commented lately that the SEC needs to upgrade our coaches ... but I don't see it. We've got good coaches. We maybe need to sign better players around the league.

I like ur thoughts overall. I agree with most of it. This league may be one of the top basketball leagues in a few years. It may be 10 years from now but I can see this conference is on the upswing

He should be gone after this season. The NCAA sanctions are pretty mild so I doubt that will have an impact on the decision.

Hope you guys land a decent coach. The reputation and strength of a conference is much more important in basketball than it is in football IMO.

The sec is at least trying to be relevant in basketball. The coaches they've hired shows that. Now we will see if they can turn those cultures around at some of these schools

I don't believe Mark Fox will be at UGA for long.

Is this a thing? Not being a grammar nazi at all just curious because I see it all the time like it's a joke or something I'm not privy to.

It will be a really interesting to the finish. Vandy was picked to finish 2nd in the league. I believe they're 6th or 7th right now right? With that said, they are 1 of 7 teams that are within 2 games of first with 7 conference games remaining.

Dammit ... sorry. I knew I forgot someone. My bad, mea culpa.
So how do Arkie fans like Mike Anderson so far? He's in his fourth or fifth year right? Had a couple of good seasons ... we have not faced him yet this year but he always seems to have Arkansas ready to play in the past.
