Someone that could not put it all together but you can see had many positives.

iMO Guy Morris at UK, after the finesse style or Mummy had UK playing very physical in a short time.

A few Vandy coaches probably apply here.

bobby johnson. was never really able to pull together too much record wise but was always good for an upset or two here and there.

You are your record.

Otherwise... we wouldn't keep score.

Rich Brooks easily. He's a HOF-caliber coach IMO. He's a big reason why Oregon is where they are right now and made Kentucky relevant in the SEC. Tremendously underrated coach.

Sylvester Croom. He was in the verge of something great.

Zook, but only because he's a dumbass for getting too involved in X's and O's.

If Zook would just hire top-flight coordinators, let them do their job, and focus solely on recruiting, he'd be dominant.

I actually do think Croom had a chance to really build on the State program.

He did a phenomenal job of turning them around in 2007 and things looked promising heading into the next season. But the players never really bought into his offense like they should have and ended up getting him fired.

Shame, really.

Spurrier's SC record.

He himself stated he didn't realize how far back we were in terms of talent and facilities when he got here and even considered retiring in 2008. It took a bit longer than everyone expected but we're on track for sure.

Croom.

Great recruiter, great gameday couch, did things the right way, accepted responsibility.

The guy was such a spark plug and the antithesis of laziness that we had to get him a golf cart just so he could relax for a few minutes a day.

For 2 of the 3 years he had Charlie Strong as the DC, and had Larry Fedora on staff all 3 years and named him OC after Ed Zaunbrecher was demoted in 2004.

Its hard to imagine Spurrier only won a single national championship. Actually i believe he was better at Florida than what the record showed.
