What are the chances Patterson transfers this season?

Patterson obviously has a tough decision on his hands. He could go the Jarrett Stidham/Blake Barnett route and transfer down to a junior college in order to make himself eligible to play for any Power 5 program in 2018 (from SDS LINK)

With bowl ban this year and potentially even more sanctions on the horizon it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

If ole Miss stops paying him and his brother then he's gone

His brother just moved up in the coaching hierarchy.

He's headed to Auburn. Since Gus Malzahn can't develop a QB he recruited himself to save his life.

Probably not transferring unless there is a multi year bowl ban.

He's thinks going pro in 2 years anyway.

Ole Miss wont get hit by sanctions till probably October so Shea will have already screwed himself over by playing the first few weeks.

Ole Miss will get hit by multi-year bowl bans and that 2016 class will get buried in the rubble of losing years of eligibility. Freeze screwed that 2016 class harder than he did that escort.

pretty sure underclassmen can transfer without sitting out a year if the team is placed on a 2+ year bowl ban. Shea may want to weigh his options for a 1 and done type of deal if Ole Miss gets the hammer here shortly. He also has a RS year to use. Although, I see him more as a guy that will want to declare in 2019 regardless

Freeze hasn't had to either. Patterson is uncharted territory for Ole Miss since like 2000

Cam Newton, Nick Marshall, Stidham, and one other I'm forgetting.

He's gunna have to play there this year unless the ncaa hits ole miss in the next month. Otherwise wherever he transfers he'll be sitting out this season. Best to play the season and if the ncaa eventually hits ole miss transfer and play immediately elsewhere junior year.

Is this dude really this good? I swear I've only heard tons about him lately like last 6 months. Ill admit I honestly don't know who he is, and I haven't followed recruiting the last few seasons.

He's in a tight spot here, boys. He has to play, but how can he sell out for this shitshow of a program?

Coaches always preach (see what I did there?) that half-assing is when players get hurt.

Shea should grab his hammy on the first series of the year and just watch from that little tent on the sideline

Of course he does. His dad probably thinks the NFL is going to see the light too and make a 6'1 200lb QB the #1 overall pick.

Sidenote: What kind of grown fricking man names their son Shea?

He was one of the top QBs in his class. He was average last season, but he is still young, and well, he chose to go to Ole Miss. I could see him doing well somewhere else.

Which was pretty impressive considering he was a frosh on a team of mercenaries who had already quit on the season

Yeah iirc he played some last year behind Kelly. Just was wondering about the hype, because IMO Kelly could've been better. Dude had an arm , but made mistakes. Figured for him to be pumped he would've been more competitive out of the gate.

No problem. Shea had all of the tools coming out of high school. I'll be surprised if he doesn't play at the next level.

That's right. He has a choice of transferring right now to a JuCo and leaving next year or he can finish this year with Ole Miss and transfer without penalty of sitting out after the sanctions are handed down.

It's really almost the same thing.
