I'm with hippo cock on this one. I would think they've come to understand moving the game is only practical.

The hotel where visiting teams stay is all of a sudden 100% block booked today.

Ok we'll just play LSU in Columbia and then fly out to A&M and play them later in the evening. Dumbass.

I just read the first 22 pages of this thread, and TL:DR

LSU fans were right. It's not just about a dry field and sturdy stadium.

And since it wasn't always mentioned, it's not just about Katrina/Rita, we had Gustav slam us in 2008 opening week of the season, and when we were lightninged out week 1 of this year, we once again learned about INFRASTRUCTURE, and all that goes into a home SEC football game.

I feel ya pain SC brothas, been there, done that. stay safe.

I hope first of all that clean-up can start soon, people can get clean water and medical care and foodstuffs and supplies, and get to their homes to get back to normal ASAP.
Secondly I hope the Cocks can host the game this Sat. In WB...

Just move it to Climpson. That way LSU finally gets to play in Death Valley.

I'm going ahead and calling it now. The game is moved to Baton Rouge. Whenever LSU plays the return game in Columbia against a better USCe team LSU fans will claim an SEC/REC led conspiracy to take away an LSU home game that will have of course all been a devious and elaborate plan to somehow help Alabama have an unfair advantage over LSU. You can already see it coming and can almost predict the complaints ahead of time.

Not going to happen. Next game is in 2020 I believe. You think the rest of the SEC East wants South Carolina to have 5 home games while they only get 4? If looking for equality, Adjusting one game would create a huge domino that would be a nightmare to fix.

Some are too dumb to realize that a down vote is an actual affirmation of post like this. Well played sir.

Hard to flip the 2020 game when you only have two West opponents and only one of them rotating.

What %age of tix sales goes to whom?
I concede ignorance of how moneys for tix / concessions are div'd up among parties involved, but I would think a neutral site far away from both teams would not be appetizing due to potential loss of sales.

If NO venue in the state of SC is available, wouldn't it make $ sense to have it in BTR, but divide the door/bar( ) as if it were an SC home game? Death Valley would sell-out for an SEC game = huge payday for USCe...

Yes, LSU inherits home-field advantage- I get that, but
I would be surprised if BTR is passed over for a neutral site ONLY to prevent it...amIrite?

ETA: EverBank Field capacity is just south of 77k...

Just saw a USCe fan on another board mention something about Georgia offering Sanford Stadium for the game Saturday. Would make a lot of sense considering UGA is on the road and it's the next most logical site given it's the closest and largest available stadium other than Charlotte.

Official word just came down, the game will be in BR. LSU staff and local support crews have been put on notice that Saturday will be a game day. Official news conference to come out in the next hour or two while the SEC, ESPN, and the athletic department hammer out the final details.
